gerelasMemberLooking forward to the Roundtable! We’ve lined up a great panel of SEO experts and they can’t wait to receive your questions!

chazMemberHere are some questions you might want to ask. Don’t have to be in this order or exactly the same.
What exactly is Google Penguin and have I been affected by it? – while this one seems obvious some affiliates might not even know they have been hit, others might mistakenly think they are affected.
I have been blessed to receive a response from God, meh I mean Google, and they confirmed I was not punished by neither Panda nor Penguin and that I was to look somewhere else to find the problem. I bet there’s at least one other affiliate like that.
OK, what’s done is done, I am penalized what do I do next? – that’s an obvious one. Affiliates want a direct answer on how to solve this. We want exact answers. Nothing vague like, “Well you could try this and that”. Anyone can tell you that.
Once the “fix” is applied how long will it take to get my ranks back? – ok this one might not be as exact as the previous one, cause probably nobody can give you an estimate, but roughly.
What to avoid in the future, so Penguin or an update of Penguin won’t hit me again? – things to do to avoid getting caught in this bear trap again.
I have a spam site that was missed by Penguin, what can I do to avoid being caught? – this is for people with a lot of sites who do have such sites, and might wanna ask, but won’t. Obviously the solution to be to get rid of the spammy stuff and add quality, but in what way that Google won’t spot you as a thief trying to flee the scene. What’s gonna cost me to get things fixed? – no such thing as free meal right. Whether I do this on my own or hire an SEO Expert, what’s gonna cost an affiliate to repair the damage.
These are just a few that come to my mind, but are the most essential ones I think that get straight down to the problem and its solution without too much of ‘bla bla bla’. After all the time to answer those will be limited.

InactiveIs old school link development completely dead?
July 5, 2012 at 7:10 pm #826108Anonymous
InactiveI don’t have any buring questions, just a few lingering ones.
Do these have any SEO link benefits or PR leakage
– In the code for many templates we often see the url for the person that developed it. These are not live links, they are usually in the comments section. I understand that they are quite useful to locate and give credit to the developer.
– When we are given banners to use the source is something like src=”http://mobilecasinogame.info etc.
– When we upload videos to youtube we include an http:// link to our sites in the description. When most websites grab these videos and descriptions they include the link but it is not live/clickable.
– We create a google alert for out websites
– Does an iframe banner leak PR to a casino site (ex. src=”http://ads.betthisoner.com/ad.aspx?bid=549 etc.)What is our definition of a good link building goal “Encourage a natural progression of links to your website using various keywords to multiple pages from relevant websites and pages”
Comment:There are a lot of great new CAP blog posts about currently acceptable methods of link building.
If we were to summarize the important factors of our website to get it high search enginge ranking would it be = 30% unique useful content 50% relevant links 20% user experience

LucretiaMemberI guess you have it all wrong …….. you are looking at the wrong things IMO
* Google is looking for unique content & quality back links …… top priority to check *
But does your site have unique content ?!
1. some sites have better content than others ….. but does not need to be a major factor
2. you may say : I checked my site with copyscape : I am good !! ………. probably that is where you guys get it all wrong !
Why I am telling this ?
search for snippets of texts : select 2 lines of a paragraph from your site and google it like this :
“this snippet of text is my site content“
look what google finds……….there are a lot of sites being copied by SEO companies that use blogger (blogspot) sites and add just these few lines……….and because it is a trusted subdomain……..it is hard to convince google it is (was) yours……and probably punish your site…..go figure.
E-sportsbets.org : your site has been copied too mate, just select a few lines and you will see……yes another blog copying your content…..just saying !

CasinoGemMemberHi Jillo, I have question about backlink building – well its just something I have found, that title relevency of the thread I have seen that you can get away with backlinks if the title is relevant but not the domain?.
Say its a tennis domain. But you post a blog post on it because its http://www.tennisyahoo.com/news/casino- advertises-at-tennismatch.html.
And you comment on this blog and get a backlink I noticed I still get good traffic just commenting on relevent titles not so much relevant domains?
Just wondering what people think about relevant titles v’s relevant domain and is it a strong backlink in the longrun?.
I did notice a few of these backlinks got indexed quite quickly aswell, though only have a few not over doing it but it does seem to bring good impressions – search queries ect.
Peoples thoughts on title relevancy v’s domain?
cheers

InactiveSome questions out there to answer –
rmeeuwsen
– Banners should be hosted on your domain, not only is adding a call to another domain leaking pr its adding DNS lookups to every visitor you have.
– text credit to a developer is not an issue at all
– iFrames are handled by the browser, to actually open a site inside your page, so I would say this is NOT a leak as its really not even there.
Alist
– Strong links from not related sites will index very fast if the site they are on is indexed fast, makes sense but when google looks back and see’s non relevant links as a large portion of your profile it will not be good.pjotter
– by old school are you reffering to link exchanges, directories ext? if so yes that pretty much shot but not complete out yet.July 20, 2012 at 7:23 pm #826526
