What you are decribing may have nothing to do with DMOZ. Your friend with the crappy site, is it a poker site? Does he go out to play poker in casinos and chat up everyone at the table, and pass out business cards with his site on them? You can drive a LOT of business personally if you go to places that have your target audience and sell. I know a poker teacher that makes good money just sending students through their site.
I know exactly what you mean but still, there are many sites out there that get more than 1-2 visitors a day without going out and do landbased advertising. This type of advertisment as well as going door to door with casino CDs would be my last resort if there is no hope for online success, the problem is there isn’t many casinos if any that are close to where I live. My friend also doesn’t go to real casinos either as far as I know, he owns just a plain crappy casino site with about 10 pages with just one or two casinos and thats it with no poker at all on it the last time I saw it.
If someone here could offer some advice or secret that actually results in me getting traffic, I may someday give that person a gift of sorts if I get money because of it (which would surly happen as a result of more than 1-2 visitors a day traffic). This is how desperate I am getting for traffic. Take a look at my site and you’ll probably be suprised that it’s a failure so far, its a nice site.
That gift will probably be worth as much as I paid my SEO who isn’t really helping much but it is worth alot.:letsparty

Now that you mention it, I have a little question…
Isn’t it dangerous to go to a landbased casino, and give cd’s ???? They won’t like that! :nono: Be careful!

If you are willing to post your url/urls, me and i am sure many other CAP members here might be able to give you some friendly opinions and advices for free.
Im sorry about not posting my website up publicly on the forum, but I don’t publicly show my site on CAP because I’ve heard that scrappers (predators) hunt around on CAP and other casino affiliate sites and basically look for weak sites like mine that don’t get indexed by the search engine very often and they will constantly look at websites like mine daily for new content I put up so they can steal it, put it on their own site, and get it indexed before I do, so they get the big credit while I get the duplicate content penalty, even though I’m honestly making the content myself. I’m very afraid of this tactic.
