InactiveThat’s how I link to my bookmakers .. (with an intermediate page) …
I created it for the same reason – tracking.I’ve been doing that for about 5 years have haven’t noticed any penalties .. but I can’t say that they’ll “lift” any penalty.
As with all things SEO – who knows until you try it ?
Good luck mate.

InactiveHi,
Thanks for that. I thought i had been penalised but today i did some reading and read that if i had a penalty, yahoo deindexes all your pages except for the homepage, and it’s indexing both my sites quite well…maybe i just need to seo it better. if anyone could give me some good advice on yahoo then i’d really appreciate it

but even so, i guess it’s better to hide the affiliate links as i have also read G and Y hate them. Is it best to hide them by using a tracking page with a variable or a redirect, i.e, by sending them to a folder which has a 301 redirect (such as /thiscasino/ which then contains and index page with a 301 redirect)?

InactiveWe use a tracking code as well through ASP, and haven’t seen any problems, though we are still in the Sandbox, so it’s hard to really say for sure. Definitely no problems ranking on Yahoo though.
The key to Yahoo is to get as many links as possible, sitewides do very well in their SERPs for instance, while they are devalued in Google. Also, your title and on-page optimization seem to count for more than they do in Google.

I’ve created a tracking page that would then redirect to the appropriate casino eg track.asp?c=casino…However is that enough for the SE’s? How long could i expect to have any penalty lifted?
Hi, i had a quick look at those two sites in your profile and i can’t see any sign of a penalty in google, msn or yahoo. A good program i use that hides your affiliate links is called Fast Click http://www.ftrain.siteburg.com/
Yahoo and Msn have algos which can detect affiliate links, with msn the ban is automated and if you have lots of affiliate links on your homepage then there’s a chance you will get banned, but the good news with Msn is once your hide your links you get back in straight away within a few days, with yahoo well youv’e got more chance of winning a big prize than getting a gambling portal back in.

InactiveHi,
our site http://www.toponlinegambling.com has been panelized by Yahoo, do you think it would be wise to copy all the content to another URL and submit it ONLY to Yahoo ? Not MSN or Google?
We will change all the linking to JavaScript redirection pages today, how do we “hide” these pages from S.E’s in Robot.txt ?
I will create a folder called /ADV and make pages like /ADV/1.html for redirects will that work?

Inactiveas far as i’m away, google doesn’t like tracking links to appear too high up.
Nor do they like to have redirected pages listing highly with them as this damages relevancy of search’s.Thats what they told me at the SEO company i worked for, i don’t believe a word they say anymore cos they’re all lying, ******* **-******** ******* ***** or **** ******** *** **** ******* at that company!!!!!:cuss:

InactiveWhat is the solution than ? is that script the way to go or is there some other solution that is better ?
Thanks

InactiveI really don’t see the problem with aff links. The majority of the top sites use them, so they must not kill your site.
