InactiveThat’s right, join the club, krys.
And Dom, you are 100% right. What we need right now is to “lay low”, with all the legal issues, the last thing we need is to draw more attention to the industry (on the search engines, that is)…

InactiveHOW can someone who actively participates in ad serving AKA scumware buys be so concerned about someone spamming search engines?
What you are talking about happens to all of the top sites – when you rank well for a period of time other webmasters try to duplicate your success any way they can. For the scum out there they resort to stealing content and frankly I believe they should all be shot but thats another issue!
Furthermore and quite unfortunately that’s not the worst of it. Several greedy unethical webmasters who don’t know how to do things any other way because they are low lifes/high school dropouts target your websites serp listings through targeted ad buys via scumware! You would be AMAZED at who is doing this – several are members right here on this forum in fact a couple have had the gall to speak up in this thread complaining about spam and their google results :laughing: HOW DARE THEY!

Let’s try not to mix issues. This thread is about spamming search engines, and using stolen content in the process.
There is a scumware forum here at CAP and any posts there about scumware are more than welcome.
I am always interested in scumware issues – don’t get me wrong. I would just like to keep this thread on target.
Thanks.

vladcizsolMemberI dont like the tone of the conversation here.
Rather then lock it down or send it to the Attic I am going to move this one to the Free For All section.

AND for the record “SW” was brought up because I noticed a couple of people who utilize that type of marketing (scumware) complaining about someone else stealing content. BOTH are wrong IMHO and quite frankly the later is much worse – instead of stealing your content they are attempting to steal your players as well! Furthermore it was and is my opinion that those imbecils have NO right to complain about anything!
Personally I could care less about spamming search engines. Produce a quality site thats not all about getting users to click thru to a casino and you will rank. Sitting around complaining that youre getting toasted in the serps isnt doing anything constructive about it – go create some content and obtain some quality links. Wear your white hat and you wont have to worry about the black hat morons – they will fall in time.
I think you should be more concerned about the dirtier techniques being employed by your colleagues. Id love to see these folks come out and admit they are targeting YOUR sites and then see what becomes of the conversation!

InactiveImbecils? If you want to insult people, please use a spell checker, and then do it someplace else.
Again, if you want to talk about scumware, do it in the scumware forum, where you will be more than welcome to do that.
This thread was a useful thread, discussing actions to deal with people using stolen content while spamming.
If you cannot understand what the topic is, please reread the thread.
It’s not that I am not in favor of talking about scumware – just please do it where it belongs.

Yes I understand that – YOU have a comment for anything and everything. :roflmao: Sorry for missing that E in your moniker :nervous: I guess I dont know how to read and write.
You are right though – I dont care to talk about scumware either – Id much rather take the issue up in a more constructive manner. Now pull those pants up high and make yourself feel important – like your part of the team and a a member of the community. :la-de-da:
===
Oh I forgot to add – for those of you that do not know which of your peers are targeting your sites – pay close attention to which members are NOW following this thread with great interest you might learn a thing or two.
===
Let me also add since this thread WAS moved to the free for all area – details of those using SW is to follow – stay tuned folks!

InactiveAh, the master of insults has made it back to CAP!
Welcome aboard. Too bad I don’t have the time or inclination to banter with you – it’s dinner time.

InactiveIt is illegal for anyone to violate any of the rights provided by the copyright law to the owner of copyright. These rights, however, are not unlimited in scope. Sections 107 through 121 of the 1976 Copyright Act establish limitations on these rights. In some cases, these limitations are specified exemptions from copyright liability. One major limitation is the doctrine of “fair use,” which is given a statutory basis in section 107 of the 1976 Copyright Act. In other instances, the limitation takes the form of a “compulsory license” under which certain limited uses of copyrighted works are permitted upon payment of specified royalties and compliance with statutory conditions. For further information about the limitations of any of these rights, consult the copyright law or write to the Copyright Office.
http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ1.html
Example found on this site :
Why does it say Copyright © 1998-2003 WhatisCopyright.org at the bottom this webpage? Those are the dates that I created and/or modified the layout, text, graphics and other material displayed on this web site and saved it to my hard drive. That entitles me to claim copyright. Only I, as the author and creator of this work, am entitled to use, reproduce and distribute this material unless someone else who wishes to use it obtains my prior written permission to use it as well, and only in the manner that I previously approve. What does this mean? That nobody may access my web site and copy my layout, text or graphics until I provide a written document that states, “Yes, you can use my work, but only in the manner that I deem appropriate.” This especially goes for those who want to use my material for lucrative purposes.
Would you let someone sell letters you’ve written for publication in a magazine without your permission, and particularly without getting some of the profit? Anybody who uses, copies or distributes my material in any manner, for commercial or personal purposes, without my written permission, would be committing an infringement of my copyright. If I, at any moment, detect a violation of my copyright by another individual or entity, I am entitled to assert a claim. It doesn’t matter if you are a “newbie” or if you “don’t know any better”. As a principle of law states: “Ignorance of the Law does not make one exempt from compliance thereof.”

InactiveTheoretically the CAP Certified Partners visit this message board and read the posts. I believe that’s one of the requirements of a CAP certified partner — they’re supposed to be available here to answer questions and deal with affiliate issues. I think this certainly counts as an “issue” worth addressing.
I’m not sure, but I think they only have to monitor their own dedicated forums.
Also, I don’t think many – if any – aff programs will ban this webmaster(s). S/He will go from one program to the other. In the end a very small program that none of us promote anyway will gladly accept the traffic, which in turn will give them free publicity when the next thread regarding these sites pops up.
Anyway, :shooter: this guy.

InactiveOn a lighter note, I’ve actually made some gains in google. I actually have a top ten ranking for a few keyword phrases.
