InactiveThere are just bundles of the first ones which capture your text and hide it.
The secong ones ::: Can sites linking to you harm you?

InactiveIt’s called cyber squatting and it happens all the time. I don’t understand why the great GOOGLE doesn’t penalize these sites and see how they actually do damage honest websites. I gave up on these clowns awhile ago. :dozing:

InactiveUnfortunately its a simple fact of life that if you have a great idea, or you are successful, others will copy it. Its one of the first things you learn in business and the only answer is to evolve faster than your competitors and stay ahead of the game.
Search Engines and the Internet in general, hell technology in general, is still very much in its infancy and until such automated technologies can replicate the human brain, there is little chance of parity and fairness, particularly when it comes to the Web.
Some people take the “if you cant beat em join em” approach while the more astute evolve their businesses and keep one step ahead of their competitors. Anyone looking to make a living from being an affiliate, or have become dependent on the income, needs to have a business plan and targets. It should be among the first things you do if you are not just treating it as a hobby.
But hopefully Google et al are working their way towards providing the results you’d expect from a search engine where sites are manually reviewed and priorities are based on content. It may get better but just don’t expect it to be aywhere near perfect in the next 5 – 10 years or so.
Just my $0.02

Cheers
Simmo!

InactiveAnother one:
http://fire.prohosting.com/zcasino/casino_263.html
this one contains hidden extract of texts from various websites – it then redirects to Casino Tropez. If you are fast enough to click on the “stop” button and look to the cache… it contains the first sentences of my site. :madat:
IMO this affiliate should be banned of Casino Partners.

http://www.online-poker.ws/online_casinos_blackjack.htmI think that if I continue I will find dozens of websites that have copied mine, or inserted small extract of text several times to get me in trouble.
Poor guys. I will report everything to Google and affiliate programs and will get them banned.

Yep.And no one says we have to sit still and watch people copying/stealing from our virtual properties without fighting back.

InactiveI like Max’s idea… can we make a plea to the CAP certified partners to ban affiliates doing this crap?
If we could have something like that done we could spend more time promoting their casinos that swatting at these guys.
Cutting them off at the affiliate level is the best way – better than the seach engine level in my opinion.
Anyone diplomatic out there want to try to talk to some aff managers for us?

InactiveI have to take this opportunity and brag about the fact that I just rejected an advertising deal this morning to an aff. program which works with the “top spammers”

I like this. Anyway we can tackle the problem…

InactiveI like the idea too.
Theoretically the CAP Certified Partners visit this message board and read the posts. I believe that’s one of the requirements of a CAP certified partner — they’re supposed to be available here to answer questions and deal with affiliate issues. I think this certainly counts as an “issue” worth addressing.
Copying, scamming, and spamming are unacceptable activities. But, I don’t think the search engines give a rat’s ass about copied online gambling content. The online gambling industry is already frowned upon by the Big Two (Y & G), so why would they want to listen to us? Imagine if a porn site complained to Google about copied content. Google would probably laugh in their face. (Of course, online gambling and porn aren’t the same thing, but the comparison sort of illustrates my point).
Therefore, I do think the best way to stop these people is to cut them off at the affiliate level. The key is to filter out the person behind the spam, plagiarism, etc. Blacklist the person (not the website). If the person is banned over and over again, eventually he will run out of “good” affiliates to work with.
Perhaps some kind of blacklist database could be created and shared between the affiliate programs. When you sign up for a program, you have to provide your name and contact information…. I think it would be fairly easy to crosscheck the information against a third-party database of blacklisted webmasters.
Of course there will be some gray areas with this whole thing, i.e. what determines when a webmaster has “crossed the line” with spam, did they really copy so-and-so’s website, or were they actually the victim, etc. But I think there are very obvious examples of spam sites out there right now that could be taken care of immediately. Track ’em down, shut down the affiliate accounts, and start taking names.
I would be interested to hear some affiliate manager opinions about this.

We are getting pretty close to being a sleezy industry – with all the spamming being likely primarily gambling places, it is no wonder the engines want to get rid of us. See the post about Yahoo not taking new gambling listings and considering the legal aspects of keeping/tossing the established ones.
I would be interested to hear some affiliate manager opinions about this.
My guess is many won’t like it – it cuts into profits in the short term.
In the long run I think in the current climate it is very important NOT TO ANTAGONIZE THE SEARCH ENGINES!!!!!

If they are doing this to you, they are most likely doing this to all sites in top positions.
I may drop casino partners due to this type tactics ( it is just unacceptable).
Even if it is done by a affiliate, accepting other webmasters stealing content, is not right.
