I would continue to market to the German market nonetheless, and continue to earn commissons – why not? It is easier to optimize for European SE’s and you will get better results for the effort put in – if the groundwork is done right and you align yourself with the right operators :)

That said, we will be launching our German site virtually straight after the US site launch, and this will follow with French very soon.

We have support in both German and French presently so will be able to look after these players from word go. Also, we will have German affiliate support that will enable us to feed valuable information back to you so that you can optimize effectively for these markets.

Grand Monaco will be live by Wednesday!

the french is different- it has much more affiliates so obviously theres competition. even though the level of the gambling awareness of a french player is much higher then a german one, the french will spend less money in one casino and will be looking for another one soon after he/she has registered.

    retention is the main issue

what you said mirrors my experience … they mostly gamble like they eat

which is why the American is king in this business.

There is defenitely life outside the US!

Money Casino’s website is available in English, French, Spanish, and Swedish, and the software is available also in German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, and Hebrew :satisfied

From our experience I can say that global players worth the effort. Another plus is that SEO-wise the competition is less fierce than in English.

I’d be happy to make contact with webmasters who specialize in Spanish, Swedish, or French. Please PM me or mail me at [email protected]

I understand that there is a certain excitement over German players but I have to spoil the party a bit. The German government is currently trying to shut down a € 500 million sportsbook and withdrew their license recently. They are also trying to put a ban on advertising. The only thing that slows this plan is the federal structure of Germany.

What I don´t understand though is why Poker ads are becoming more common in Germany. Is that not considered gambling anymore?

This sports book is Bwin (former Betandwin). This guys where smart! During reunification of Germany, they acquired a small sport books with gaming license form the DDR (East Germany) for little money. Through this acquisition they can operate legally in Germany. Bwin grew to a multimillion company and now politicians (mainly finance ministers) from German provinces are shouting: We need to protect our people from this bad sports betting company, blah, blah, blah… We all know, it’s only because the lose millions of tax, because Bwin is not a registered company in Germany. Than we have other politicians, who are liberal towards online gaming, because if Germans would gamble in German online Casino, they would be also the taxes. Two sides with the same goal! It’s that simple. The only question is which site will win.

Poker is still illegal in Germany, except if you play in a land based casino. We are now experience in Germany what was happening in the US a few years ago. TV broadcast of Poker tournaments and it’s “in” as a celebrity to play poker. The German “David Letterman” Stefan Raab has recently a Charity Celebrity Poker Tournament on his show.

Work on optimizing your site for google.de and you make money.

    Regards,

    German Expert
