InactiveNon US traffic is as valuable as US traffic. I have a good know-how of the European market, especially Germany. I can tell you, per player spent is higher than in the US, they are loyal and nearly risk free (charge back risk is minimum).
In the German market you need to focus only on Google. They get 85% of search engine traffic.
If you need more information, send me pm.

InactiveI think there are a great many of us who have been looking into foreign language casinos, I am glad to see a thread directly discussing this issue.
Thank you for the links everyone has provided. I would love to see this discussed in depth rather than PM requests – inquiring minds want to know!
Thank you in advance!…….Andrea

InactiveHello!
I work with non-english traffic since 2002, and I can only say it was good

I have very little time, so until now I’ve mainly worked with one partner (the one on my signature), and I’ve sent ah… dozens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in bets. But my players are usually very good, and some of them sometimes earn big time
The advantage was that I created my own brand, so after these 4 and a half years, I have people searching for my unique keyword on all search engines

InactiveJust be aware that it is illegal in Germany to play at non government gambling operations. So this income stream may subside soon. At the moment they are pretty much trying to wipe out the online betting market with a ruling by the German Surpreme Court.
And yes, affiliate managers may not have told you about this. No big surprise there….

InactiveGoldfinger, I can’t agree with you.
In March the German Supreme Court published the long awaited ruling. A bit of history: About 2 years ago, their was the Gambelli verdict from the European Supreme Court. An Italian bookie took bets for a UK betting house, the Italian accused him of taking illegal bets for a company that don’t have an Italian gaming licence. Gambelli took it to the European Supreme Court and they overruled the Italians > free trading of service within European Union and the UK based Company has a legal UK gaming licence.
After Gambelli, several attempts have been made to break the monopoly in Germany and open the market for European based sports betting companies. Guess what? I didn’t work, the German Supreme court ruling went conservative: no foreign companies allowed, the monopoly stays! Further, prevention of underage and compulsive gambling needs to be improved.
Fact is: nothing has changed for an affiliate in the German speaking market! You still need to host and register your sites outside of Germany (or Switzerland, or Austria), there hasn’t been and are still no media buying options. You need to optimize your site only for Google – google.de (for Germany), google.ch (Switzerland) and google.at (Austria). By the way Austrians spend 4 more on gambling than Germans. Content needs to be in a proper German, it’s not good enough just using an online translator.

InactiveWasn´t that exactly what I just said? German players are not permitted to play at foreign gambling outfits. Just because it currently isn´t prosecuted by the German state doesn´t mean it´s legal.
What is feasible and what is legal are often two different things. It´s feasible to rob a bank and get away with it but it´s not so legal.
The question is for how long you´ll get away with promoting casinos to Germans.
And if you´re German promoting casinos to German players you are definately breaking the law.So essentially we´re saying the same I guess.:shaun:

InactiveIsn’t that the case in most of the countries that it’s illegal to play in a foreign casinos, pokerroom and….?
I am wondering why you stopped promoting to Germans and which markets you are targeting.
If Operators, affiliates and players would do everything according to the book, the industry wouldn’t exist.
I can’t see prosecutor will go after end users. That’s my opinion.

InactiveHi German Expert
I have to say that from my experience in the German market, I agree with Goldfinger wholeheartedly. Yes, you are correct that the German players are great if you can get them, but trying to run a site as an online gaming affiliate attracting German traffic is very tricky as gambling at state run providers only is legal. And no, it’s not illegal for players from all other countries to play at foreign providers – some countries do have a state monopoly but others such as the UK are regulating their online gambling rather than trying to prohibit.

InactiveHi Catherine
Hi GoldfingerI agree and disagree :yinyang:
It is illegal for a German to play at any online gaming site. That’s the same story in France, Austria, Italia, Spain, Sweden and lots of other European countries. People still gamble in these countries and affiliates are making good money. Some of the big boys in this countries make also more than
$50k a month.Catherine, I don’t understand what is very tricky about German traffic. Sorry my ignorance, I only worked in markets where online gambling is illegal. So I don’t know any easier or legal way to get traffic.
Fact is, this markets are not as competitive yet as the US, and with the same SEO effort you’ll be rewarded with more $$$ or €€€. I just try to convince some webmaster to open their minds to the European market.
