InactiveI just tell them it is a continous learning process that never ends and that they would never understand, but if you want to learn go buy Dreamweaver (That usually stops them right off the bat) and here is a template to Practice with and when you get good on how the build a website, then we will talk about how to get a URL, SEO,affiliates, etc.
They all seem to forget about it in about a week.:bigsmile:October 15, 2004 at 3:13 pm #656277Anonymous
InactiveI tell them they can either learn how to build a website or hire someone to do it. I also show them a list of tools I have on the webmaster section at gamesandcasino.
Then they usually have so many questions they tend to give up right there. One was tenacious and got a site up but then didn’t want to do SEO or spend money on promotions. So the site sits there….

InactiveI think a good percentage of people use the internet for entertainment – when we tell these type people that we are making a living off the internet they just cant believe it – they then assume it must be a game and as such simple to do.

InactiveMy 2 cents:
I personally feel there is nothing wrong in showing them how to make money from affiliate marketing. When you give them tips/secrets etc… ask them to try out a different gambling sector from the casino side (such as poker/sports betting) and tell them the reason why.
This will stop them copying your content and also help them become good at it. I did just this with a good friend of mine, and now he earns a nice sum promoting health insurance (totally unrelated to gaming).

InactiveI don’t think anyone has any problem with helping newbies – after all that is what we do here day after day.
People are being used and abused by “friends/relatives” who think that there is no work involved and we should just put the pie on their plate and go get them a fork to eat it with.
That’s not how it works – there is work involved, and a lot of learning. We don’t even realize just how much we have learned until we try to tell someone else.
