InactiveCan not believe this issue has not blown up already – are others really freely following the demands or is no one else using the payspark service? If not what other ways are being used by Americans to get paid?

According to them the new passport requirements were imposed by the central bank of Cyprus and MasterCard international.
I guess you could always check if this is true. Though personally, I find it hard to believe MC would make such demands. Cyprus is anyones guess.

last email I received in March said a color passport or dvr lic, front and back. No emails since.
They already have my lic in color and I never sent them the back side.July 8, 2013 at 10:35 pm #833786Anonymous

They already have my lic in color and I never sent them the back side.I sent them another copy of my DL – in color – they responded that they could not use it going on to say that I must supply a colour passport. Card expired 6/13 – I am guessing if/when your card expires that you will be in the same boat. If they are accepting DLs from some and not others that sure would raise even more suspicion.

InactiveHere is what Consumer Support – CSC24Seven.com Ltd. said last week ….
Please be advised that these are the new regulations body that were
implemented on us by the central bank of Cyprus and MasterCard
international; as such, we are no longer accepting U.S driving license as a
proof of ID.I replied that I would be in touch with both MasterCard international & the Central Bank of Cyprus and here is what I got today from CSC24Seven >
Further to the below, please note that the below requirement is imposed on us by the central bank of Cyprus and not by master card. Please provide us with your Copy of Passport, at your earliest convenience.
WHY would they change the story? Typical online casino non-sense!

Bescause they are telling porky pies.
If the truth be known, the Cyprus Bank doesn’t require a Passport, it’s Payspark who do.Saying it’s a requirement of MC and the Cyprus Bank, most people will accept this BS line.
I know you’ve got a few grand in the account, mate, but I don’t understand why Payspark have an issue with accepting your Government issued DL.
You could always contact the Cyprus Bank and ask them what the deal is or better yet, as they are now part of the EU, there must be a finicial government dept who oversees these banks. I’d contact them asking for clarification in email.
If they come back with WTF?
The you’ll know who’s been leading you up the path and can then respond.

InactiveThey told me a drivers license wouldn’t work because it’s state issued and not federally issued by the government. This of course doesn’t really make sense but nothing can be done about it. I don’t have much need for an account but kept it just for the odd payment here and there, but it isn’t enough to justify this.

Thanks for the feedback GH.
Their story makes no sense at all.So, unless you live in a country like Gibraltar, which is not divided up into states, regions etc etc, CSC24Seven (aka payspark) claims a State Government (which is directly tied to the Federal Gov) issued DL, is not acceptable ID.
But they’ll accept a bank statement or utility bill as proof of address!
This passport issue is clearly an excuse BUT why?

migsMemberFrom what I was told, this had something to do with the debt issues in Cyprus at the time. If I remember correctly, the government wanted individual citizens to forfeit a percentage of their bank savings to help pay the debt.
I believe that the funds within the debit cards are held with the Bank of Cyprus. I always had the impression that the banking end was in Cyprus, and the customer service for the CSC24Seven was actually somewhere in Lebanon.
