InactiveI confer with my colleagues – the conversion ratios are far too low. Furthermore my personal stats tracking indicates the stats your site provides are not even close to being accurate. For both of these reasons I was forced to cut back the amount of traffic I send.
In the past I have been approached requesting additional exposure – e.g. send us more hits and you will get more conversions. This type of presentation only serves to reinforce my belief that Coins is utilizing a hit quota to selectively choose which affiliates it will work with from month to month.
With regards to the “CD” issue – if Coins is taking measures to “steal” players from referring affiliates right in front of our faces – then what are they doing behind the scenes?

Inactive“e.g. send us more hits and you will get more conversions. “
I’m amazed that an affiliate manager would ever try this kind of hare-brained reasoning, but I suppose it happens all the time. I’ve yet to hear that one myself.
If conversions are low, who in their right mind would send more traffic?
And as far as having a landing page that doesn’t function except for the download casino button–thanks, but no thanks. That dog won’t hunt. I think everyone else in this thread has made the reasoning behind that thinking very clear.

InactiveHi Connie, Sorry I missed you in Vegas last time.
Conversions seem to be the main problem.

InactiveI agree with you prof..
Steve don’t feel so bad.. Going back from Jan 2004 – 24 months back, I have had 22 months of chargebacks.

InactiveHi Connie,
As already discussed on the phone and obviously I’m not the only one having this problem: conversions…..March 25, 2004 at 1:46 pm #646820Anonymous
InactiveConnie this is a weak response which indicates you are not interested in affiliates. Take this to the very top and you know who I mean. Or just forward this on, CC is at a critical point in it’s marketing plan, go one way or the other, this so so position does not fly.

GuestSteve don’t feel so bad.. Going back from Jan 2004 – 24 months back, I have had 22 months of chargebacks.
I don’t feel bad at all about only 2 chargebacks; but I knew from talking to you and others that there was an abundance of them for webmasters with CC and I wanted to help make Connie understand the extremely vast difference in chargebacks that a webmaster experiences when they aren’t promoting CC aggressively as I have chosen to do because of poor bottom line experienced in the past.
I mean, come on Connie; you’ve got to admit those are outstanding numbers in comparison to someone that has had them ….. what was it? 22 out of 24 months or something like that. That’s pathetic in comparison even when cutting it into quarters as Ronda and I often do when comparing each other.
* …. in my defense I’d like to add that we’re nearly to the point of taking that equation to 1/3  …that’s bottom line, she kills me in the lesser-important categories. But that part is okie-dokie with me as long as we don’t lose any ground on this bottom line thing.

InactiveHello everybody,
I’d like to thank you all for your feedback in this discussion.
Please know that we take each of the above
issues very seriously and strive to solve them in
a mutually beneficial manner. In our efforts to identify a long term solution with
regards to CD’s, we met with our technical department
and are pleased to announce the following:As of early next week, CD registrations WILL carry the
affiliate ID. Furthermore, you will be able to see the
number of CD registrations and CD customer sign ups
that take place. To recap on my earlier post, Casino Coins is making
every effort to help improve conversions and we
encourage webmasters to contact us individually so that
we may develop personalized plans for each of you.Casino Coins also maintains that we do not have control
over your player’s chargebacks. However, by working
together, we can try to pin point the reasons for
chargebacks and seek to minimize their occurrence. Finally, there have been a few personal remarks made
about Yali on this post, which he would like to address
himself. Please find his response below.Once again, I appreciate your participation in this
positive discussion and look forward to continuing our
long term relationship. If you have any personal outstanding issues, please feel
free to email me at [email protected]Sincerely,
Connie Burstin
Message from Yali:
Hi,
First of all, I want to thank everyone for the great
feedback and suggestions. It’s a good opportunity
for us to identify issues and make plans to improve
the program. In reading your responses, I have obviously seen
the comments made about myself and feel it is
important to answer them personally.I’ll begin with Ronda. Please, if you are going to
quote someone, make sure you do it accurately.
I have already responded to your demand to “remove
all CD request forms from our casinos immediately”
with a definitive answer – No Way. My answer
remains the same.As we both know, our CDs are hard coded and therefore
not a viable tool for low volume distribution. Since you
received 500 CDs customized with your code, you
would have known that better than anyone else. All click throughs, regardless of the industry, have a
percentage of loss. This is due to a number of
changing variables: slow connection, internet
traffic, pop up blockers, DOS attacks, tracking definitions
across systems…etc.
Normally some traffic will get lost and it can range
from 5% to 20%. I was offering you an example of
extreme cases. The possibility of a Splash page was and still is a poor
solutionto our problem. Since we only began
sending CDs recently, we have been working on a
solution that allows us to use the CDs across all
acquisition channels, provide the necessary backend
reporting and keep the user experience as simple as
possible. Finally, to Allan, I’d appreciate it if you would talk to
me before passing judgment on my attitude.I believe the Casino Coins program is the hardest
working program in the industry. Connie and her team
are doing a great job and we are seeing great results.Again, thank you all for your great feedback – we are listening.

InactiveYali as every affiliate manager knows I dont demand anything I ask.. I asked for a landing page without cd’s order form on it. You know this. And you said ” NO WAY” this was on the phone.
I never said you had to take off the casino sites, just that I did not want it on the pages I was sending players too. Which was not unreasonable. However you said it was impossible to code cd’s with affiliates id and there was no way you would do a different landing page. Since then yes you have offered one, With not the same quality.

Ok, we made some real progress on that issue, I want to thank Ronda for bringing it unto everyones radar screen.
Hopefully we work together this effectively on the remaining concerns and make this a banner year for all.

InactiveI am going to wait and see if the conversions of others improve.
I have sent too much free traffic over the last couple of years.
It always seems to happen that when one totally loses one’s patience, that is when something gets done.
Krystall is one of the most reasonable affiliates I know and very manager friendly.
If she has a problem with Yali I must assume that there is a problem with Yali.

Guestalways seems to happen that when one totally loses one’s patience, that is when something gets done.
isn’t that the truth. And its a bad deal all around because even if we affiliates do end up with what we asked for … its usually not until after toes have been stepped on, and both sides walk away feeling even less sure about the other side than when they started.
btw 20% lost is unacceptable but I understand that he was covering both ends of the gap and that it isn’t always 20%.
but ouch! all the more reason that sponsors should seek to treat us in a fair and reasonable manner because at the end of the day, whether tracked correctly or not; the money the players are depositing into the casinos is exactly that; it is in the casino and it ain’t walking out by itself.
meaning that don’t you think that getting up to an extra 20% right-off the top is enough extra without doing things like sending out CDs without our codes in them?
Should we really have had to “positively discuss” this at all?
up to 20% right-off the top: before we’ve done a single thing.

InactiveHi Yali,
You do have a attitude problem! Rhonda is my good friend and she related to me your piss poor attidude about the fucking CD’s. Enough fucking said.March 26, 2004 at 12:57 am #646852Anonymous
GuestThe aff coded cd is a great solution.
However, it isn’t a solution to the fact that Casino Coins willingly and knowingly stole players in the first place.
Captain, I think you’ve coined a new phrase.
Yali is an attidude.March 26, 2004 at 1:15 am #646853Anonymous
