InactiveHolis wrote:What about the last pub post from the attorney?Yeah, and the attorney will surely stand by your side should the events happen not exactly the way he has predicted… Even if he is right and the court will eventually acquit you (should there theoretically be any charges) i neither have the will to spend first few weeks/months in jail nor time to spend another few in courts. Id rather be diving off the cost of Mexico.
The question really is: 1. Do you have much to loose if there was something to happen? 2. Is it absolutely necessary for you to be present in Vegas at that time? The answer for those both is a sound: 1.YES, 2.NO in my case so im simply not making it to Vegas this year.

InactiveHey Everyone,
I must say at this point I am feeling uneasy about going to Vegas. This really sucks to say the least. Still, I was going on vacation and was not planning on attending CAC. It seems that some programs are still going such as Partner Logic and others. After discussing this with my family and giving it much thought we are still going on our vacation to Vegas. Still, it would be good to have more information before we leave. I am going to keep a watch here at CAP for any further information.September 8, 2006 at 9:20 pm #705186Anonymous
InactiveAs of now, I still plan to be in Vegas. It is not a crime to take a vacation in Vegas. It is not a crime to visit with friends. It is not a crime to go to a few parties and socialize. Simply being in Vegas is not a crime.
If the feds really want you, they’ll come to your house and get you.
Personally, I think affiliates have little to worry about at this point. It’s the sportsbook companies that should be worrying. Taking bets over the phone has been illegal for years, and it will be very easy to enforce that law. It will not be easy to enforce the law that prohibits all online gambling, because it doesn’t exist.
See my lengthy post in the other thread; I explained myself better over there.

InactiveYeah, just received a confirmation from PartnerLogic – they will be there.

InactiveHi folks, I decided months ago not to attend, and made it known that the US attitude is very uncertain on this. To host an online gaming show in the US is silly if not stupid.
Lou this is why I had recommended that you do not hold CAP in miami but in the Bahamas, and I still think you should
Hey Ben I just got a promo mailed to me from Atlantis is the Bahamas, it is the #1 resort in the Bahamas, they have a special this month 4days and 3 nights for something like $250 per person. The rates here are normally like $300 per night, you and Valentina should look into it.
Dhel and I would go but we do not have time for a Visa. Big brother is out there folks, i don’t know if they will be making arrests but for sure they will be taking names. Good luck!

InactiveI am waffling back and forth and decided to decide tomorrow.
I have unbooked the stardust and if I come I will be staying someplace else.
In any case my stay will likely be briefer than planned because I will hop over to Canada to see some folks who will not set foot on US soil again.
This sux big time.

InactiveI understand why people are freaking out, but I also feel this is a huge over-reaction. I also understand the “better safe than sorry” plan and I would certainly not try to talk anyone out of their decision to stay home.
I’d never planned to go to CAC to begin with–my plan all along has been to spend the week in Vegas to do business and spend some well-deserved time with friends. I have no intentions on changing this, other than I’ve shaved two days off the trip (I was to arrive Sunday and depart the following Sunday–now I’ll arrive Tuesday, instead).
To those of you who’re still going…first round’s on me. Those of you not going, you’ll definitely be missed!

InactiveSorry to see that some of you are changing your plans.
I’m still going to Vegas, though, and like Greedygirl, would like to meet with anyone that shows up.
Second round’s on Greedygirl
