The fact that they missed 2 court dates is one of the core issues here. They could of had a local US attourny show up and at least represent them, by doing so they did indeed thumb there noses and judges hate that.

Having the second court date moved to Washington state was also a stake in the heart knowing their feelings about online gambling. Having this take place one week before NFL season starts was a brilliant move by 1st.

Where 1st is not so brilliant is that domain now goes nowhere, Bodog has spent millions, prop 10’s of millions Branding this domain and doing a fantastic job of it, they should at least put up a splash page promoting something with all the type in traffic it gets.

Dom i think this will hurt them quite a bit as branding was their foremost strategy.

For us the most important thing is go to the site http://www.newbodog.com and sign in the aff with your original account and get your new links. Also banners being served from their old site no longer function.

    Good luck all!

    Brian

Nicely put… and thanks for reminding me about the image location for the banners.

Do you think this is 100% permanent?

Or do you think they will again use BoDog.com.

I think that if they cant get the courts to give them BoDog.com that they will just buy it back. They need that name IMO.

Plus if you check the whois on NewBoDog.com http://whois.domaintools.com/newbodog.com

    It is only reg’d for a year. BoDog.com is reg’d until 2015

Does anyone else find it strange that if a court took away their domain bodog.com for using unlicensed technology then why wouldn’t they take away newbodog as well? I mean they are continuing to use the same technology right? And why would they strip them of bodogfight and bodogmusic? Those sites had nothing to do with using the technology.

Kinda smells DOJ-ish to me but then again what do I know.

They’ll probably remove those domains too.

Personally, I can’t stand bodog and wouldn’t link to them if they paid me any amount of money. I’ve found their affiliate approach to be arrogant and pompous.

Actually this is the first time I have heard this before. In a market where originally is so hard to come by I like how Calvin has breathed some life (hehe) into the game. I think you have to understand that to them Bodog is about a brand – gambling, music, fights and living it up. They are an Entertainment Company that has a casino.

I posted on their new name change last week on the blog if you care to see my take on the new/new domain. Hard Knock Life

BodogLife.com has been registered through a French register.
It would be a bit harder to lose this one.

Seems like someone screwed up by not transferring away from the US when the new laws passed..

Greg, I don’t know where you’ve been when before all the “crackdowns” on online gaming/wagering/betting happened but I’d like to remind you that Calvin Ayre agitated a lot of people with his “catch me if you can attitude” and where you see him as “breathing life” into this industry, a lot of others see it as him giving it the kiss of death.

That’s what they say. They are an online gaming company who use those other “entertainment” avenues as a conduits to online gaming/wagering/betting. I think a company that goes to the trouble of creating their own poker software and their own network has a their eggs well and truly in the gaming/wagering/betting basket. Enough said…

PS. Sometimes people say “with all due respect..” and sound like they are not being respectful. I actually say everything above with all due respect :)

    I was here.

But then.. I changed my mind.

I can’t delete. Sooo until someone comes along behind me.. and deletes this silly message, well ooops, here it is. Because I didn’t read the post above mine correctly, so I said something dumb.. and .. now… I’ve changed my mind ;)

But.. being that it’s 2am.. and I should be asleep. I figured I’d give you something to read.. instead of ‘delete me please’ while we wait for deletion..

    My daughters favorite word..

I just emailed the new bodog.com owners asking if they would give me the domain name seeing as they’re not using it. Hey if you never ask you’ll never get. :roflmao: :santa2:
