InactiveI would guess they don’t want to be. They don’t aprove many people to be affiliates, as I understand. I like them, but the stats suck, and I have had a hell of a time getting creatives (always takes a few weeks and several emails back and forth).

InactiveBodog is a mickey mouse operation that got some good media coverage and everyone now thinks they are cool because of it. They dont know anything about affiliate marketing.

InactiveActually,
I like Bodog. Before they had to shut down echeck it was one of my best performers. I seem to have no problems getting ahold of my account manager when I need to speak to her. Their stats are on a 24 hour delay which may be unattractive to some, but its ok with me. I think why some people don’t like them is because they dont take every affiliate. Which makes some sence. There is no reason to take a site that hardly ever changes or updates itself. My AFF man told me they stay away from site owners who just throw something up in the wind and tries to see what sticks. Those people usually dont stick around long.

InactiveI can understand not wanting affiliates who throw something up and have no experience. Or affiliates who are on freewebhosts… even if I started off that way.
But you can only alienate so many good affiliates before it turns around to kick you in the :grunt:

vladcizsolMemberWe have spoken with them on numerous occasions about certification, but up to this point they have been reluctant to come on board because they say they are worried about being de-certified. I have no idea why they have this concern, but thats what they tell us.
Will they every join the community? I have no idea….

InactiveI understand they have certain criteria for who they take on board.
Probably they have a checklist of items regarding the website presented and if they are all met the aff is in.
Like any such thing, it’s going to not be perfect in seperating the grain from the chaff and people will undeservedly fall through the cracks.
That’s likely why they avoid certification, probably they would end up having to justify decisions and get into lengthy arguments.
It’s really their business how they pick affiliates for their program, and if they make some bad decisions on that level it’s them who loses out.

InactiveI have asked this in the past,
one of the main reasons is that they couldnt handle all the new affiliates that would come on board and be able give each affiliate an “active” affiliate manger who does respond to you in a timely manner.
there affiliate process is not streamlined like other programs (which they are working on) – alot of the process is done manually by the affiliate manager, like getting tracking codes and banners or any other custom stuff etc
for me they are an excellent program
so i think when the upgrade is finished – they may come on board.

InactiveI can only speak as an affiliate that they provide with a service.
When compared to other programs, their service is excellent.
I agree, pity about their lack of tools, but their responsiveness in a way has made up for this.
They retain well – that’s what matters.

InactiveWell, I just took them down from my site since now they only offer one form of deposit.

InactiveMan, you guys are just straight lazzzzy.
Here, some goodies from my private stash:

Again, someone handing you something, instead of searching the web for a bit and finding it yourself. :whipper”
Bodog is a good program, and they are not cetified here, because they dont need to. CAP certification is not about the “quality” of the casino/aff program, but for easy communication between the program and the affiliate, plus for some popularity. Since Bodog screens their future affiliates, they dont need the affiliate popularity. And other than changing the payment method – I have not had any reason to communicate with them – numbers are good, I know where to get the banners from – what do I need to contact them for?

Man, how come, I didn’t get informed about this site by my aff manager?
Checked the banner codes on this site and they look quite different from what I was given by my aff. manager then.
I joined a year ago by invitation and haven’t made a cent. Could it be perhaps caused by the fact that my banner codes were not tracking? If they have a proper stat system in place we could see the clickthroughs and downloads.
I just removed they banners from my sites a few days ago due to some terms in their T&C. Looks like I wouldn’t get paid even if I could have acquired a few players now.
Here it is:
Affiliate will earn commissions for the life of the Customer, on all transactions the Customer undertakes at Bodog.com, for as long as the Affiliate remains an active member of the Program. An active member is defined as an Affiliate who remains in good standing and promotes Bodog to the best of their ability (as stated in section 3, paragraph 1) and who refers a minimum of 10 depositing players per calendar year.If Affiliate commissions earned do not exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00 USD) in any given month, then payment will be carried over to the following month until they exceed $500.00 USD.
Negative earnings are carried forward to the next month. Should the Affiliate close the month with a positive balance, payment will be issued if it meets the minimum requirements and commissions will be paid on the positive balance. Should the Affiliate close the month with a negative balance, this balance will be carried forward to the next month.

InactiveI just started promoting Bodog, both casino and poker, and the results are VERY promising. With the same exposure as Stars or Tilt, they have out performed both so far this month…. We’ll see how they are in the long run, but I’m very pleased to this point.

InactiveDont beat yourself, I was not informed about that website either

I think it may be due to their linking strategy – same as VIP, they use affiliate links to help them rank on the search engines. If it’s wrong or right – it’s up to you to decide.

Yeah well, until you get an aff like myself who includes rel=”nofollow” to avoid crawler clicks. But obviously the majority doesn´t do that so it works for them SERPS wise.
