If a webmaster signs up for this program, and the player is referred to a new casino from one of my sites, who get the credit? If its not me then the casino affiliate is breaking the terms and conditions I would have a SERIOUS issue with.

Let me know I’m wrong please.

Additionally, I would like to know who gave my email address to B4Playing? I don’t recall asking to be on their mailing list….

same here as that is what sparked my concerns.. This sounds like all around BAD NEWS for casino affiliates.

I have not made up my mind about this.

Now if a player uses the device, and he goes to your site because you have good info compiled about a certain game, and he makes his decision of where to go based on that info, but he will click on the device instead of your site and you are left with nothing for your work?

What if the device offers better incentives than the casinos give to affs as a rule?

I agree – I don’t like any of those possibilities Dom.

I think a real look at the coding of this thing needs to happen.

i.e., what sensitive information might be transmitted if it were running on my computer…. is just one MAJOR question I would have.

Strikes me as an attempt to monopolize a web application and then start bullying affiliates like us out of our commissions some way down the road.

    Hey All,

I actually want to approach these issues in a positive way. We have opened our solution to affiliates as we believe that it has a major advantage for them (and for us).

Our basic drive was to solve the inherent disadvantage of being an affiliate (in any industry for that matter) which means that we spend time and money, we deliver a player to an operator and we lose him once he switches to another property. The B4Playing solution solves it! Once a user downloads the client any transition, at any time, from one property to another (through the client) provides B4Playing with a CPA commission. It is very possible that a player, who is interested in, say, reviews, or came across a banner or another piece of information, will go to a property through that link (like it happens today). We do not mess with any links out of our tool. This is fine with us. We do not claim and will never claim that we limit the user from searching or going to a property not through our client. We do believe that our client will ease players’ life and will help them in taking smart decisions B4 they play. This should solve your first concern Allfreechips.

A good friend of mine, a huge affiliate in the industry, loved us, he was extatic and has asked us to rent or licence him the software. That triggered us and thus we came up with an affiliate program (the one certified by the CAP) and offer affiliates to join us by sending traffic to our site and get players to download the client. Any traffic sent through our banner or through PPC belongs (through a specific link) to the affiliate (we got from each property a unique links to the users of the specific affiliate – yeh we are dealing with hundreds of thousands of trackers). The same as we all do when we send traffic to any property. The link is used and is embedded at the client being downloaded by the user and it “belongs” to the affiliate and attached to his account. Any new property being used (player deposits money) is referred to the specific affiliate. Here comes our Multiple CPA concept. The affiliate keeps earning CPA commission every time the player switches from one operator to another.

Yes, Dominique, there will be cases where a player will read a review and will not take an immediate action and later on will click on the link supplied at the B4Playing client. I believe that this is how the advertizing model works in general. I believe that the opposite will happen too. A user will get to know about a certain property at the B4Playing client, will not act immediately and later on will click on a banner or Adword or read a review on any site and click their link and the one other place will get the commission. The same goes to your second comment. Yes, we are sure that there will be special offers being offered exclusively to B4Playing community. This is the same as a large affiliate who gets an exclusive bonus. Affiliates who will work with us will have the opportunity to make more money from users referred by them if the user will switch to the property who is offering it.

Now to the most serious concern raised in this thread by Kwblue. B4Playing is very sensitive about personal data. The only data we track is the following:

    1. We track the affiliate’s link so that we can refer the CPA to the affiliate who brought the user.

    2. We track where the user goes. We have no idea if the user deposited money or not (the same as the standard affiliate model.) The information is brought to us on the specific affiliate trackers and they are the one reporting it (not like other programs we know that the users are reporting where they have converted…)

We have a clear No Spyware, no Malware and No Spam policy. See us at http://affiliates.b4playing.com/privacy_policy.html and http://affiliates.b4playing.com/anti_spam_policy.html …… We are very serious about it. In all my years of work, we tried to avoid it. This is a good time to say, if someone is an affiliate/webmaster generating bad players or just registering people we do not want business with him/her. Saying that, if you were for some reason registered by someone, you should have an opt-out link at the bottom of the initial email – please click on it and you shall be removed. Practically we are now checking who registered other people to our system.

Hope the above clarifies it all. Will be happy to answer and give more clarifications here or through my mail, phone or any way of communication.

Well, sounds fair enough. I still think there is no way round a code audit though. For all I know this program could engage in affiliate link hijacking like bearshare or limewire. Maybe a case for Ben Edelmann or whatever this guy’s name is from Harvard?

they are simply buying your traffic for a cpa cost.. no need to investigate much further..

here is my question that needs answered,

What does the PLAYER get when he/she first sign up?

a toolobar or what? Does that toolbar overide any content on a page? Does that toolbar interact with a page, ie if you click on a casino link does it say hey use this instead?

allfreechips, that’s what I meant “affiliate link hijacking”

    resource 1

    resource 2

    resource 3

and if that is indeed a possibility then it would be negligent not to investigate further, imho

At B4Playing, we have a unique commission structure for our affiliates. Here’s how it works:

Every time a user opens an account and becomes an active (real) player, and deposits the minimum amount specified by the online gambling site, the affiliate linked to this user receives a commission. Each time a user joins a new property and becomes a real player, the property will notify the CPA (Cost-per-action or the Casino Cost per Acquisition), so the affiliate can receive their commission.
Most affiliate programs only allow their affiliates a one-time CPA commission when they send a player to an online casino or poker room. B4Playing, on the other hand, enables our affiliates to earn multiple CPA (MCPA) commissions. We have made this possible because the B4Playing user(s) linked to an affiliate becomes that affiliate’s user(s). This means an affiliate will earn a commission each time their user(s) becomes a real player(s) at a new property.
Providing our affiliates with the chance for more than one money making opportunity is what makes B4Playing unique, and truly sets us a part from the competition.

I suppose for affiliates that originally joined the casino’s CPA model it could work out to their advantage, however am I correct in assuming that affiliates on rev share are just trading their rev share for a cpa share?

    Cheers,
    SlotPlayer

Did any of you get spammed by gamblingwebmasterschool?

I get the official B4Playing notices, so I know what to expect. But the last email purporting to be from B4Playing came from gamblingwebmasterschool with a bunch of strange links pointing Indian-based sites.

Not only that – with a username which I could NOT have possibly registered with, meaning that it is a stolen database or otherwise linked to a casino.

I believe an explanation is in order.

Spearmaster, Like I said before, that we will check, we found the person who said he would be emailing 30 affiliate friends and eventually emailed a list of about 300 people he gatehred. His account was shut down and we have banned him from our site. Please note, again, that you have a link at the end of the confirmation email to optout and be removed.

slotplayer, allfreechips, Goldfinger and others. I understand that the issue of “affiliate link hijacking” is bugging you. The B4Playing smart tool provides gamblers with information on gaming opportunities, bonuses, endorsements, etc’… It is a stand-alone software that runs on the Windows desktop. The B4Playing tool DOES NOT track user navigation and DOES NOT gather or sends ANY information back to B4Playing. Information flows from the B4Playing servers to the gambler’s PC ONLY (It is a push based concept).

In addition, the system does not include any component which runs inside the WEB browser (There is no BHO (browser helper object), no ActiveX & no Java).

B4Playing delivers the information in the safest possible manner & directly to the desktop.

In addition I want to say, again, that we are not even able to track what our users are doing and weather they are converting within the properties, unless they report us, using their affiliate tracking system. Allthough it is much more difficult to manage and track, it is a safer way.

More to say, when we have made focus groups with poker players, they have requested us to have a feature that registers them automatically to a tournament they have requested. Easy to do, technically BUT we said NO and I will tell you why. The reason for it is that we would need to get the users User name and password to login to his/her account and register them. We called ourselves B4Playing for a reason. We DO NOT act out of the scope of the tool it self – We are the “Before Playing” and that is it!

Hope that clears this issue guys.

In anycase I invite you to try us, you will see that Multiple CPA program can be very profitable… as a friend of mine said: “let me send you players, you do the work and I will go to the beach”. This is what we are aiming for, to enable affiliates to send the players and rest while we do the work.

Please feel free to contact me if needed.

    Have a cool day all!

    Itay :hattip:
