InactiveGood ideas.
I’d personally leave you to it and go on an extended holiday Dan.

LeroyGMemberNobody has any input on this?

biggygMembermaybe we are all waiting for the casino to give us the million dollars then we will use our good ideas hehehe

InactiveIf I was the casino…. I would give me 333k for web designers… 333k for content writers… and 333k for me to do some seo work for every imaginable keyword. 1k for domain names.
I would still ask for my 35% rev share on top of that.

InactiveI would pretty much go with Antoine’s plan, but maybe a little heavier on the content writers. Finding really really good writers who can come up with some compelling stuff, then get it onto Digg or Delicious and watch the traffic soar. Dominating SEO would be the big thing to do. PPC in other countries is something I guess, but the big bang comes from the US, and that means organic SEO for the most part, which requires good content.

LeroyGMemberI would not use more then 20% of my budget on SEO. You just never know with this country anymore. It would not shock me if the gambling debated heated up, and then one day SEO for this business was part of the past – listings gone. Now while I do not expect that to happen, the fear of it would keep me from spending tons of money on SEO.
As for overseas ppc, I think it is a winner.
I think ppc here on overture is a winner if you know what your doing.
I think that during the next year, buying email and address databases from companies that no longer use them because they do not cater to the US – is key.

vladcizsolMemberQuote:buying email and address databases from companies that no longer use them because they do not cater to the US – is keySeveral problems here:
1. The people in the database did NOT opt in to receive offers from you. Whatever you send is SPAM and violates the Can SPAM act and the terms and conditions of most reputable casino affiliate programs.
2. The number of SPAM Cop complaints you will recieve will make it necessary to find a mailing company offshore whose IP range isnt blocked. Most of your email will be blocked after several mailings making the returns smaller and smaller unless you continually switch mailing firms.
Quote:As for overseas ppc, I think it is a winner.Well over 97% of the traffic you receive will be fraudulent and produce 0 conversions. If you dont believe this then you havent done much PPC advertising offshore.
The people who recommended Organic Search SEO know what they are talking about and arent merely speculating.

LeroyGMemberAs for Spam, obviously you would have to have the offshore setup and means for getting around the blocks. That is a given and that is no problem at all.
I have done tons of PPC advertising in this business over the years – NONE outside of the US. Fraud or not, if the ROI is positive and the CPA is decent, then it is what it is, all the major companies are doing it all over Europe and many are doing it the hidden way on overture in the US.
As for SEO. Of course SEO is great. I got ruined by the Florida update then rode the Yahoo wave for years after. I watched SEO build many businesses over the years. Would a Casino fronting money want you to spend 100% or even 40% of the marketing budget on SEO? No. I do agree that it has to be involved from day 1, and at all times.
It is nice to see many people focused on SEO. In another thread I mentioned a deal for fellow CAP’s. Our content writers will create custom articles on demand. In exchange I would want a small email collector somewhere on your site. Looking to do big deals and to provide people dozens of fresh articles a week. http://www.casinoaffiliateprograms.com/bb/showthread.php?p=102688#post102688

InactiveDan–just curious…what is your REAL motivation behind your question?
It seems to me that you asked a question, yet you apparently already have all the answers.
After reading your thread in the content section, followed by your last post within this thread, I can’t help but be a bit suspect of your motivations.

InactiveI am curious as well Dan___SF?

LeroyGMemberIf I felt I had all of the answers then I would not have asked the question. I feel I have some of the answers. I was hoping a few marketing strategies would pop up and we could discuss them.
There is no hidden motive in my question.
Some were suggesting that SEO and only SE O is the way to go. I disagree. I do a lot of SEO and I know content is king. Over in the content section I am offering the use of my writers to give any CAP members any kind of content they want, in exchange for some type of exposure of our email harvesting device on their site.
There really is nothing else to it. On Monday I am sending several CAP members several examples of the writers content so they can tell me how much they want and what they want the content to cover. We will then work out a deal for exposure.
Hope this covers all of your concerns. I really would like to know more about your thoughts and ideas on marketing a casino, it is just a good debate and a very suitable discussion.

December 17, 2006 at 11:42 pm #719195
LeroyGMemberNo, it is not spam.
An email harvesting box where people add in the email, where they OPT IN their email if they want to be part of the newsletter? That is what I put on sites in exchange for custom content. How is that spam if people opt in? Maybe you have the wrong idea about what I mean.

InactiveWouldn’t people be under the impression that they are subscribing to the site that sports the box?
December 18, 2006 at 12:33 am #719198
LeroyGMemberIf they did not read the text under the box that explained that it was a sponsored newsletter – then yes – they would think that it was for the site they found it on.
So if content is king for you – we get emails from your site and you get custom content.
