    Hi there,

    Good news on this subject :) We ‘believe’ we have found the reason why some affiliates are getting blank screens when they use our banner codes!

    The explanation of what isn’t working goes like this:

    1. Our banner serving system has been setup to enable us to serve multiple banners under each banner code. In order to make this happen – everytime a landing page is called up, which has our banner codes, each banner code randomly selects a banner and places that specific banner id in a session.

    2. The problem with the sessions – only one BrightShare session can be active per landing page, so if there is more than one of our banner codes on the landing page, each banner code will call up a new session which will delete the existing session. This explains why some of the banners codes work okay and others don’t work on the same web page.

    What we are doing to fix this:

    1. We our updating our banner serving to disenable our option to serve multiple banners per banner code. Basically, we see no practical reason to have this option. We still update and refresh the banners for you. The only difference is that there will be only one banner (which is the case now anyway) per size/type, i.e. one 125×125 main promotion banner for All Slots, etc.

    2. Once we are no longer working with muliple banners per banner code, we don’t need the sessions anymore because the banner code will be taking only one unique banner each time.

    Our Web Developers have completed the updates needed and we are removing any multiple banners from the BrightShare banner library today before sending it on to QA.

    We are confident that this update will solve all the problems being experienced with our banner codes, without requiring affiliates to make any changes. However, if we are still having problems after the update we have another two options to correct this problem, but I’ll save you from the long boring explanation now.

    P.S. Kevin: You were right. Campaign was spelled incorrectly so when you corrected it to the correct spelling you disenabled the mutiple banner serving option and the setting up of sessions and that’s why it worked. Good one!!

    Hi there!

    Our banner code issue has finally been fixed :tounge2:

    With the removal of the need for sessions, you should no longer have the blank screen problem with any of our banner codes.

    Before making the update public to all our affiliates, we would appreciate it very much if you could check our banner codes and let us know if you encounter any difficulties.

    Okay, it’s official – our banner code system has been fixed and our banner codes are now all working 100%.
