    Here is a contact form for register.com – every spam you receive from Fortune, send it to register.com

    http://help.register.com/cgi-bin/register_help.cfg/php/enduser/ask.php

    It has specific drop-downs to specify it as a spam report.

    We have an update from register.com on procedure for moving this foward. I’ll be directing them towards this thread so that they are aware of Fortune’s history and record for spamming:

    For valid complaints to be investigated properly you must provide the following information:

    For UCE/Spamvertising complaints, we require the email message with full header information and the html of the body of the email, including the domain in violation, then to forward to abuse@register.com.

    For Phishing complaints, we require the domain & URL in violation and the nature of the complaint, then to forward to abuse@register.com.

    So – that’s what we HAVE to do. Every spam from Fortune, we need to forward to abuse@register.com

    My reply:

    Many thanks, Lynette – you’ve been most helpful.

    I do understand that you are only the Registrar for Fortune but thought it best you inform you of what’s happening with their domains – you may wish to reconsider renewing their domains at renewal.

    I shall, of course, be taking the matter also to their hosting services and I thank you again for your kind assistance.

    Hi;

    It is a weekend, and with tomorrow being Monday you will get the responses and outcomes of this issue.

    We have already started on working this out but for any results we have to wait until Monday. I assure you it is being taken in the most serious light.

    I was having a problem with 1 affiliates 3 spams a day. Now, I am receiving from 2 others. (Although I think perhaps it is still the same person!) What shall I do?

    The last affiliate, I forwarded their spams to you daily. requested politely, multiple times for a reply from you (Fortune). Never received 1 reply and the spams still rolled in.

    The only thing that stopped that affiliates spam was, I don’t make a habit of deleting my bulk mail as it gets deleted every 30 days. I had finally had enough and replied to EVERY spam from that affiliate. some may have been a bit over the top on my part but, come on…….there were hundreds of them.

    Enough is enough!

    Hi;

    We have identified the offending affiliate regarding Fictionet’s SPAM, and are in conversation with them now to get the mails stopped ASAP.

    Erik, your SPAM issue is also being revisited, we are in discussion with the offending affiliate to stop the mails immediately.

    I will update once again as soon as I have further news.

    In conversation with them? If it’s REALLY an affiliate spamming and not YOU or a MEDIA BUY (which I’m far from convinced of) then you should shut down the account.

    In any event, you should NOT be keeping any revenue generated by this spam. Give it all to charity – and post proof here that you’ve done so. You do not deserve profit from this.

    We are beginning to see a problem with the responses here…

    According to your terms and conditions:

    T&C’s wrote:
    4.10 Banners and links may not be placed within unsolicited e-mail (spam), unauthorized newsgroup postings, or chat rooms or through the use of “bots”. Traffic generated in the a foregoing, or any illegal manner, will:

    4.10.1 not accrue towards the calculation of any commissions payable to You in terms of this agreement. Furthermore, We reserve the right to terminate this agreement immediately if it comes to Our attention that You are ‘spamming’, falsely advertising or participating in any other form of marketing activity which could discredit the Casinos and/or Poker Rooms and/or Fortune Affiliates. Furthermore, upon suspicion of such conduct We shall be entitled to place your account under review and all funds due to you will be withheld pending an investigation into your account and such activity;

    4.10.2 In addition, give Us the right to levy expenses and/or fees incurred as a result of such activity on Your behalf.

    This is just one of the many clauses you have regarding spamming. However – at this point, your actions appear to be a bit less pro-active in this regard.

    Can you please follow your Terms and Conditions and let us affiliates know that you are serious in regards to spamming affiliates. I, for one, and sick of all the casino spam lately. And you guys WONDER why the US and others keep passing laws against you. Incredible stupidity, IMO.

    Very well said responses by Kw & Fiction. Couldn’t agree with them more. In my humble opinion… Simply asking your spammers to remove our particular addresses is totally insufficient. What the hell is your spam policy? My guess, you really don’t have one… Well, it’s selective, despite your stated policy on the Fortune site. You either completely ignore or drag out spam complaints, or you just wait as long as you can before taking any real action, making as much money as you can in the interim. I don’t just want my email address removed from your spammers list, or my fellow CAP friends, but everyones! Imagine how many people out there are getting this crap spam & don’t have a excellent place like CAP to complain. Your spam makes this whole industry look bad. At a time when the political winds are changing in the United States & the prospects look brighter for our industry, you continue to tarnish our image. It’s pitiful, repulsive & intolerable. I have been following the main spam message boards for years. Fortune spam is soooo prevalent, especially at the University level (.edu address) Just disgusting, in my opinion. You need to cease all spam, unless you want your domains shut down AGAIN. I recommend that anyone who is receiving spam promoting the Fortune Casinos the following:

    – Sign up & process the spam through spamcop.net
    – Forward the spam mailers to Ecogra info(at)ecogra.org They do care about spam & have been very helpful to me previously.
    – Forward the spam to Microgaming generalenquiries(at)microgaming.com
    – Visit http://www.spamhaus.org/ – Lots of good info.

    Hi;

    The 2 campaigns have been stopped on our end. You will receive no more SPAM from these campaigns promoting us.

    We do take SPAM very seriously, and while we investigate further we took the decision to stop the campaigns completely.

    Thank you for advising us of the SPAM problem.

    Erik, that was an excellent post and even reminded me about the eCOGRA route which I’d completely forgotten about.

    We’re at a cross-roads. Marvyn wants my e-mail address so I can be unsubscribed from the list. I won’t hand it over because I want to know if he’s still spamming.

    Fortune reckon this spammer has a genuine list – they’re more happy to believe the spammer that I subscribed to his spammy list than the FACT that I did not.

    Fortune reckon that they can’t investigate how I got into the list without my e-mail addy. Fair point, I suppose, but for the above stated reasons I’m not going to hand it over.

    Bottom line: this guy is a spammer and Fortune must KNOW that. You only have to look at his pathetic attempt at ‘mailers’ to know that. Fortune are prepared to believe that his junk-list is genuine.

    No change then – expect more Fortune spam.

    I am surprised nobody else has pointed out this but golden casino is included in all this spam too.I doubt fortune group is promoting golden casino.

    Fortune has the best player retention retention for us and every month we see improved stats.We have sent MANY test players from different countries and they have passed every time.

    One of our employees here won quite a bit of money with them and their vip team came to canada to visit and that person was lucky enough to attend the 2007 cruise this year.Many of you dont know it but our entire staff went on this cruise at our expense of course and for a full week we took many dinners with their employees ,got many nice pics we will be loading up soon .

    We hung out with 100 of their players and we only knew the one .They all said same thing over and over ,how much they loved this group.

    I was just a passenger on this ship but i made it known to Nick ,jonathon ,lawrence ,Jean claude and few others i was an affiliate inthe industry.The group Invited us to a dinner with another couple from ottawa canada ,in fact i think most people who spent any time in the casino got free drinks on them ,dinner invites and picture opportunities.

    I feel by going on this trip i got a view that most of you will never experience,I asked few players what they spent to win the trip ,surprisingly most spent $3000 or less and had been a player less than 1 year when they won the prize.

    One thing surprised me , they didnt hand out any promo stuff ,except every night in the casino they had a free draw and the ballet on one side had the playnium play website address and the other you tear off to put in the box.

    We spent $70000 on the trip for the 4 of us was worth just the friendships we made .I really have to say some of the remarks on this program is not my experiece at all.

    From an affiliate point of view , I know any player i send them definitely would be treated well.And as Gina posted her before ,she won $25,000 and got her money in 12 hours .

    What does all that have to do with a spam issue -nothing of course .But i feel there are new people who may read this and think they are a bad group and I would not want them to miss a great opportunity with a good bunch of people.
