As my site traffic increases, I find my opt-in mailing list growing quite nicely. Much quicker than my Real Players counts at the various programs.

What is the best way to convert these Opt-In newsletter subscribers to full-fledged Real Players.

Here is What I do So Far (but I want to hear what works for each of you):

    1) Create an informative monthly newsletter that is more informational, than promotional

    2) Of course, I have some strategically placed Call-To-Actions in there to get a result. Sometimes these are Free Money Casino promotions, or competitions or something

    3) After testing emails on myself, it seems that Yahoo email (which many, many of my list members use will automatically re-direct any emails containing aff codes to the Bulk Mail Folder) So..what I do is set up a ‘private’ web page on my site that ONLY my list members can view with deals/promotions that ‘only’ they can access. I hyperlink to this page from the newsletters I send out, BUT I do NOT link to this page from anywhere else on my site–it makes the list members feel ‘exclusive’ as nobody else can view this page.

    4) Once promotion is over, I take the ‘informational piece’ without the private promotions and turn this into another traffic generating page on my site–it’s already written!

    What else can I do?

That’s a nice approach mate. Well done.

I simply stopped my email list about a year ago.

It was great for a couple of years (2000-2001), effective for the next couple (2002-2003) but after that responses and results dried up.

Personally I think that email lists are a dead end now – the onset of SPAM, SPAM filters, black lists, SPAM busters etc has killed it.

Be honest – how much of the bulk mail that you get (that isn’t a personal 1-to-1 communication) do you read? Even when the SPAM has been chopped I still reckon that less than 5% of my own personal subscribed mails get read.
    :omg:

Still – your approach is cleanly done … a simply link to an exclusive page.
    I DO LIKE IT!!

    Thanks!

That’s what I’ve had the most luck with-The simple link to an exclusive page. I’m surprised you stopped your list. Where else can you find such pre-qualified, targeted visitors than your own email list–people in my case who signed up BECAUSE they are interested in online gambling, playing at online casinos etc.

Also, if I ever decide toi sell my site, I think a large an email list of this type can greatly increase my asking price.

I continue to do fine with my newsletter.

I like them – you just have to make sure the people really want it and put you on their white list.
