April 17, 2006 at 3:40 pm #688941AnonymousInactivethere really is no content on that site. it looks like a big banner farm
April 17, 2006 at 4:04 pm #688943AnonymousInactiveToo many banners, not enough text in the midsection.
Google eats words and google has nothing to digest.
Write on the top of each page what it’s about and why its interesting, and write on the bottom how you think the given info helps visitors.
That should go a long way to help you.
April 17, 2006 at 10:33 pm #688979AnonymousInactiveNot sure why you have PR0 after being online for over 9 months, and with Yahoo reporting over 600 backlinks. You are indexed by Google, so they know you exist. The likely problem is that your site is in the Sandbox. Plan on being there for awhile.
Dominique is right, add more content to the site. Search engines don’t care about images, they only read content, and the more you have, the more traffic your site will generate. Even while you are in the sandbox, you can get traffic for non-competitive search terms.
April 18, 2006 at 2:16 am #689001AnonymousInactiveHas anyone bothered to take a good look at this site’s source code. The way things are nested? Dominique and webber have valid points, but your html is in chaos. greek39
April 18, 2006 at 12:57 pm #689035AnonymousInactiveCode – Schmode … you’re beeing a geek Greek !!
(sorry – it rhymed)
:tounge2:Just give me something informational to read and I’m happy …
Unfortunately … this site doesn’t have to much to keep people coming back.Hence the lack of progress on traffic for this site …
:rolleyes:April 18, 2006 at 3:37 pm #689057AnonymousInactiveI figured propper html mattered. I agree the site lacks the information to keep visitors coming back, but when your site is not bot friendly it affects your serps thus your traffic.
This is what I find in addition to what already has been said.
Spelling:
Gamblerslllustrated – Gamblersillustrated
kiwi games prewiew – previewHtml parsing errors:
323
Improper tag syntax; extra character(s):360
Improper tag syntax; extra character(s)::< FONT 363
Improper tag syntax; extra character(s)::Browser support:
35 conflicts way to many most of your visitors will not see your site in its’ propper formatt
Table problems: A total of 10 some bots will not be able to follow your tables
Propper html syntax does matter. Google, Yahoo and MSN all say make sure your site is robot friendly. Work is needed in head section of your source code this will not affect the way the page is dislayed.
I don’t want to sound like a goon gooner greek39
April 18, 2006 at 4:06 pm #689062AnonymousInactivelol goon gooner and geek greek.
In summary, about the site:
-Google has it listed. In fact, it has 56 pages indexed.
-Needs some content. A lot more.
-Needs it’s code validated. Do it here: http://validator.w3.org/, Pack a lunch.
-Even with everything done, you can expect to be in the sandbox a while.April 18, 2006 at 9:19 pm #689098AnonymousInactiveAny guesstimations on how long Google keeps new sites in the sandbox nowadays?
Not that Fun Bingo Sites is there, just wondering out of curiosity sigh.gifApril 18, 2006 at 10:16 pm #689107AnonymousInactive18 months, maybe 24…for our industry anyway.
April 18, 2006 at 10:32 pm #689111AnonymousInactiveOK … I’m going to ask – exactly what is the effect of the “sandbox” ?
I know that I should know – but I don’t.How do you say that a site is in or out of “the sandbox” ?
April 18, 2006 at 10:42 pm #689113AnonymousInactiveThe Sandbox is a filter that Google applies to newly created websites that doesn’t allow them to rank for competitive keywords. If you have your pages optimized for a specific keyword and are exchanging links with that keyword in the anchor text, then you are optimizing your site. I mention this because many webmasters don’t realize they have to be actively optimizing their sites for Google to notice.
At this point, there is a very easy test that can be done to determine if your site is in the sandbox.
1) Search for your site on Google with “your keywords”
2) Search for your site using “allinanchor:your keywords”
3) Compare the differenceIf you are more than 10 or so places different between these searches, you are probably in the sandbox. The allinanchor search is an accurate prediction of where you should be ranking. Most of us who are in the sandbox will rank on the allinanchor search, but won’t be anywhere to be found with the normal search.
For example, our best keyword has us ranked at #12 with the allinanchor search, but greater than 1000 in the real search.
