take this from someone with a lot of experience in this niche; you should ONLY list places that pay you for your referral.

the reasons for this beyond the obvious (but first let me remind you every single visit to your site, and leaving it; are potentially someone that could make you literally tens of thousands of dollars which this all MUST be included in your overall income picture because it helps make up for the inevitable screwing your going to get from SO many different directions your head will spin and backside will ache :) – ) but on top of that your surfers are going to hold you responsible for the casinos they play at thru your sites;…. do you really want to take heat for some place that isn’t willing to pay you for your very valuable service to them?

I realize some will say well we want to give information to our surfers that others don’t offer, but the gain is not worth what you give up in terms of both the aff and the surfer’s pov.

you’re not doing your surfers any kind of favors by listing places you don’t affiliate with because if they have a problem with the casino you have literally nobody to go to that you have any kind of true influence with to help find your surfer satisfaction.

Its absolutely crazy to list these kind of places!

Honest folks, I’m giving good advice here. Stick to affiliated programs. And if its variety you want to give; there are plenty of casinos with aff programs to give a huge amount of choices for your surfers.

    Geez, what brought that on?

You been surfing and seeing sites offering casinos without aff links?

That would be us. And I understand your point bbs1. However, the goal for PlayersJet from the outset is to provide a place where players can go to find information on any online casino on the web, good or bad, removing our opinions from the equation. Our strategy is to be a unique and reputable source of information on online casinos, and our approach is to rank and review every casino, regardless of if they have an affiliate program.

So far we have over 800 listed (99% have affiliate programs), and are probably affiliates of about 30% of them. We have another 1200 or so sites that don’t have affiliate programs that will eventually be loaded into our database, but there are other business-critical issues to deal with first. Traffic being one of them, and we needed a starting place.

For better or worse, we expect this stategy to pay off for us in the long run.

Chris trust me on this, I’ve been doing this for over 5 years now. And don’t just take my word for it, look at what others have said as well. They thought it was so far out in left field that they obviously thought it a redundant subject.

Believe me when I say that you are not the first to think of going the route you spoke of; and ask anybody else here, as soon as we got some experience under our belts …. down came any free links.

I can’t make it any clearer than that; but it is a serious mistake to list a casino you’re not affiliated with; and keep in mind i have no ulterior motive other than I’m trying to keep you from making what could turn out to be a very, very expensive mistake.

I can see the value in offering a complete listing – I used to aspire to do the same, and I also listed everything, including programs that would not pay.

Over the years the number of my listings has been shrinking and shrinking and shrinking… I got tired of sending traffic into space.

I work hard to attract this traffic and I am not giving it away for free anymore. I still carry a lot of programs that are not paying off well – but partially that is precisely because I carry too many of them still, the competition is too big.

I still believe offering a lot of casinos is good for me – spreads out the risk and also pleases my repeat traffic. But I have started more and more pages that only highlight a few programs.

If you can make it work for you, if you can get big enough to be able to absorb the loss of traffic to non paying places, more power to you! It is an ideal idea. But – I could not make it work and have shifted focus a lot over the years.
