InactiveI truly didn’t have time to see as it crashed my pc (it has been unstable as hell since and reinstalled windows and got rid of some strange files) and I was pretty busy fighting popup hell…
Not game to go back to look. 😡 😡 😡

InactiveJust remember the key Alt-F4 as this is the best way to fight pop-ups…

InactiveI get to looking for song lyrics periodically, and a lot of that goes on there.
They generate a window that has no content but spawns ads and downloads – gator for one, other scumware too, and popups after popups.
I still go after the lyrics but keep an eye peeled on the number of open windows my taskbar shows – as soon as a new one opens I rightclick on it and hit close. I manage to get through it that way, but always scan for scum afterwards and find gator eggs a lot.
I also think this is how I got that seven search installed that I just cannot get rid of. My spyware program recognizes it but deleting it is futile. It hijacks the search off my IE adress bar and annoys me to no end. Still have the thing!

InactiveDom you need cwshredder to kill that one:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/cws/
You will need to close all browser windows before running and then manually reset your home page after.
Simon, alt+f4 was long negated by the pop hell spawners in favor of timed delays, frozen browser buttons, preloading the spawner windows for instant activation etc.
God help this webmaster if I ever run in to them. I lost a lot of work in progress (yes, I should have saved, but was only visiting a SIG link from here….)
Several hours of work on near complete pages…oh well shit happens I guess.
Webmaster. Remove that sig link from this board NOW and
NO, I WILL NEVER SWAP LINKS WITH YOU PR5 OR NOT!

InactiveI did dean, but it didn’t get it. It lists all kinds of search scum it removes – yes – get that – FINDWHAT too!!!!
But alas, 7search is not there! I ran it anyhow and it found nothing.
I am going to run eveything under the sun today to try and get rid of it.
Aluria finds it and deletes it – but it reinstalls itself apparently.

Think you may also have to go into the registry and manually remove the 7search entry.

Manual removal:

Guestvery kind of you Dean to post those links, as I can tell you from expereince how frustrating it is to try and locate this sort of scumware and get it off your PC.
any time someone has trouble with such a thing, try doing a search on it and then on uninstall + whatever and you can usually find help in such matters.

InactiveYou know Royal Vegas and this other RTG casino, cant think of the name maybe Golden Ace or Grand Ace, anyways its a black and gold popup ad.
I dont know WHAT it is, but I can get rid of al lmy spyware but somehow those popups manage to get right back and start poping up every 10 minutes or so. It is SO annoying and I’m starting to wonder if a microgaming casino would put scuware in their software like some casinos have been caught doin!

InactiveYou know, I think that likely is what I had a couple of months ago.
It is a trojan, enters via direct x, and is a popup stopper – it stops all popups except the same few it pops over and over and over.
It is extremely annoying. I tried every removal tool out there and ended up buying aluria spyware remover for $30 or so. It found and got rid of it in short order.
I tried to contact the 3 casinos and one sportsbook that were popping – One I was familiar with and they investigated and had no idea how they got in there. They did, however, contract out to various marketing companies.
The other places never responded.

InactiveChips…
This may not be the sites you visited doing the pops….I had the every 10 mins thing happen to me a while back…and the cwshredder link a few posts above may be the solution.
Basically a few years ago vulnerabilities were discovered for resetting the homepage, adding links to favs, spawning pops. These have been re-exploited and are far more agressive and the latest xp updates should take care of this, AFTER you resolve the problem.
I have just gone through a format and complete reinstall with all the headaches that entails. Will be a week before my pc is back to what it should be. I would not wish that headache on anyone. I didn’t lose any data when my system finally decided it had had enough. Lucky me.
