arturs.vitolsMemberI wouldn’t put it past apple to start a rumor like that.
But if it is true, it might mark the first step in people actually taking time to write viruses for Macs. We hear so much about how they don’t get viruses, but really its just because no one cares about that 5% of the population.
Funny though how they’re using a rick roll.

InactiveAnd what a quick update

Apparently was written in Oz, but has spread worldwide.. was copied by a dutch teenager too.. but they used a different background, one saying pay 5 euros into a paypal account for instructions on how to protect your phone.
Apparently a few days ago the teenager changed his mind and offered the instructions for free…
LOL
I’m seriously wondering how natural selection is working with people like this still alive.

InactiveIt is strange though, only affects the i-phones which are jail broken.

arturs.vitolsMemberNow that we know its real, I wouldn’t put it past apple to pay someone under the table to write it. Or maybe AT&T did it so they could ensure they were the only people that could provide service to iphones.

InactiveIt makes sense that it’s only phones that are jailbroken (and have not had the security passwords changed) because they can run any software..
If you are familiar with Apple computers at all, you will know that in order to get a virus on a Mac (yes I know that there are only 3 of them that exist), you have to authorise the virus to run on the computer. So if you got a virus on a mac, essentially it is your own fault because you told it to run..
Now, if the iphone is allowing any software to run, it is essentially allowing malicious software to run immediately because it can use the default password. So you don’t actually need to give it authorisation because it already has it.
If the user changes the password for some setting in the iphone (not sure what it is buts ure you can find it in one of the articles), even though its jailbroken, it will not be susceptible to this attack.
Hope that makes sense
