Good post Casinojack! And I couldn’t agree more on the importance of as you say “reachability”.

I really like Aff Storm’s contact page, with so many different ways to reach you. I wish more affiliate programs would list messenger details and a telephone number on their contact page, and not just email. I tend to blow-off a lot of programs that I can only reach by email.

Keep in mind though, is important to NOT use the forums as your primary or only way of communication to a rep. Make sure you use those contact us sections on the affiliate programs site.

This is true. I see a lot of affiliates only pop in when they have a problem and try and start a big stir.

If you have a good relationship with your Aff Manager, you will have multiple ways of contacting them and they will know who you are. Sometimes a little planning goes a long way. If you build the relationships ahead of time, they will be there if you ever need them.

Lets not forget that at the end of the day, Affiliate Managers are people too. A thank you every once in a while goes a long way. Or maybe even a case of beer if you just got a big payout. What goes around comes around.

    Yes! We are people too!

I want to add to this actually because this topic comes up so many times…

It is not always the case that we cannot be reached… a lot of affiliates do not put their correct details in their affiliate accounts because they don’t want to be contacted.. Fair enough, but what happens when we NEED to contact you about payments or something? I think the onus needs to be shared in this case. Make it easier for the programs to contact you too.. There are only so many avenues we can try and when your registered email bounces, your home address is not correct, your phone number is disconnected, you’re never on AIM/YAHOO/ICQ/MSN/SKYPE… what else are we supposed to do?

Help us help you by making sure your details are completely up to date!
Edit: And make sure that when you join a program, add their emails to your whitelist… I can’t tell you how many times I’ve replied to an email for the person to then reply saying “why haven’t you replied”…

The other point I would like to make is, for example we have 3 affiliate managers (albeit Yaniv has been on leave since July and will be back around end of Jan) so the details are on our affiliate contact page for Helene and I at this stage, for all of those messenger programs listed above (apart from skype) as well as phone numbers, fac numbers, emails etc etc.. If you contact one person via email and dont get a response, try contacting via a different method or a different person… Sometimes spam boxes are real pains in the butt..

If a program provides more than 1 method of contact, make sure you have tried all methods before you declare them “not responding to your request”…

    Cheers
