InactiveAS you might expect EUROPEAN facing outlets are more likely.
We run three foreign currency accounts (USD, EUR, GBP) to facilitate easy payments from programs (as none of them offer to pay in NZD) and this then allows us to convert currencies back to local funds when the exchange rates are better.
(eg in 2008 the NZD dropped from USD 0.80 to USD 0.55 – so by storing USD and waiting we got 30% more value).
Anyway checking my accounts I can tell you that :
– EUROS are paid by Eurobet, Interwetten, BoyleSports, Betsson, Unibet, DublinBet.
– GBP are paid by Betfred Sports, Bet365, Ladbrokes, VCBet, PaddyPower.(Note : that their internal reporting and affiliate details are also usually in these currencies too, so all they are doing is stayign within a single currency.)
Unforuntately none of my US facing sites pay in anything other than USD, not a major surprise, much easier for them to stay within a single currency too.
Hope that helps …

InactiveOH – if you just want to receive EUROS then of course all you have to do is open a foreign currency account – and it will all get converted when paid in no matter what the original currency was …. at bank exchange rates of course.
We’ve done that for a long period of time with our local bank account – however it does attract more fees (banks love fees don’t they?) – and we’ve projected that the foreign currency account approach outlined above will save us between 2%-3% of total revenue this year (before additional gains on currency movement).

the last couple of weeks i’ve been watching the “not-so-mighty dollar” plunge against most currencies, particularly euro. apparently it will only get worse in 2009 as USD will hit an all time low against the yen, and things dont looks so fruity against other currencies either.
which brings me to the topic of programs that can pay in EUR provided you are in EU (or something along those lines). 99% of programs i work with count earnings in USD and pay in USD, but which programs can offer to pay in EUR?
feel free to make yourself heard

We have the ability to pay in Euro.. just let me know if thats what you want

TramalosriMemberIs it not more important what currency the players can play in?
If they can play in Euros wouldn’t that be better, since if all the action is in USD
and you want to get paid in Euros, it will be converted by the operator first, which you may loose out on, or it will be converted by the Bank and they, as been said earlier, love to put on extra fees etc.IMO anyway.
Cheers

TramalosriMemberRenee;192772 wrote:I was under the impression the thread was regarding affiliate payments?Yea that was the question, but the main idea to get Euro as the base currency was to avoid the drop in value of USD, if all the players play in USD and all revenue is calculated in USD and then converted to Euros it doesnt really matter, since they will still loose on the decreasing value of the USD vs other currencies.
If they just want Euros but dont care about the dropping value they might just as well open up a Euro bank account and get all their payments there, then if someone pays in USD or any other currencies it would still be converted to Euros by the bank.
right?

technically you are right, but my reasons are different. if you are intending on spending money as it arrives, then it doesn’t matter whether its in usd or euros. if you are planning to put money aside, it makes more sense to do that in euros as the USD will soon collapse like there is no tomorrow. US has a massive debt. it keeps on bailing out companies by printing more money which essentially dilutes the value of the current dollar.
i don’t want to be hostage to american domestic populism. just hedging my bets…
