InactiveThe republican platform specifically aims to kill online gambling http://www.gop.com/2008Platform/Crime.htm
They call it a crime.
So, if they get into power we may well be screwed.
Barring that, I think we will prosper. There are so many more important things to fix in this country that I doubt anyone in their right mind will burden the banks with policing how their customers spend their own money.
I am going about my business as usual and continuing to invest time and money into it. I am also diversifying, although I very much doubt that diversification will ever yield the revenues I find here.

InactiveThankfully enough,
The Repuks will not see the light of day this election. McCain is all but washed up, Very good chance they will lose the total majority in the House and the Democrates will maintain their #’s in the Senate. The only concern we should have is what will they do with all this power? Hopefully not abuse it like the Christian Right did between 00-06.
I Remember when the GOP stood for fiscal responsibility, stong defense, and small governmental oversight in Americans personal lives. Now all they do is Over Exuberance spending, Pro-Corporate abuse with no regulation, and shove their percieved morals down everyones throats regardless if they want it or not. No wonder I am not an Independent.

InactiveKeep in mind that marketing in other countries is thriving so affiliates don’t just have to market in the US. But with that said I’ve been diversifying too but the returns are nothing like our casino sites. I think the best minds in the world would have a hard time fixing the world economy in a 4 to 8 year time frame.
And I also believe that whether your a Republican or Democrat your not going to see online gambling legal at least not on the state level. Dem or Republican run states are clearly out to protect their own gambling interests.
Anyways its business as usual. Not getting mad rich anymore but paying the bills and saving some dough

InactiveSSD, what would be a way to market to other countries if I’m north American based?
I’m serious, I never really thought it. Would you suggest something like having a link point to other countries, then have a page or two with books that only allow wagers, say from Europe, or would you think pick a county like Germany and have a page that list only German promoting books.
And as a last questions, do those programs allow American affiliates even though they dont allow USA ppl to bet?

InactiveI have my original business which is advertiser supported reference sites and a datafeed service, that helps keep me in something more than gaming. I’ve been trying lot’s of non gaming businesses on the web, but so far no really winners.
I’ve decided to focus my gaming efforts outside the US market. When possible it would mean purchasing a domain for that country, hosting in that country and certainly creating pages in the correct language. For most of US north american folks who don’t speak anything but english, it means hiring people to write content or translate content into the languages of the countries you’re going to target. This will be harder, more expensive and more difficult to be successful, so most of us go after other English markets first.

Read what AmCam said above. That is basically the way to start marketing outside the US.

InactiveIf you follow the link I gave earlier, it says:
Internet Gambling
Millions of Americans suffer from problem or pathological gambling that can destroy families. We support the law prohibiting gambling over the Internet.
Pretty clear.

I think the government think pretty much the same here in the UK Dom, but they also see the money they make out of the industry.
In fact, totesport are government owned!
I don’t think anyone can deny that in certain circumstances gambling can and will destroy lives. But so can booze, cigarettes, fried food, guns, knives the list goes on.
