InactiveI never had a job in the first place – being an entrepreneur is my way of life.
Online beats offline by miles though.
Yes, I work a lot of hours, but when and where are my decision. And all the time I work for myself and not some other entity, it makes a big motivational difference.
You can likely get away with going fishing etc and spending little time – for a while. But, no matter what entrepreneureal venture you embark on, you have to apply yourself to make it grow and support your future.
You can never guarantee continued success, and in this business that is even more so. So, if you don’t have the drive to work on building things up, and if you don’t enjoy the work, you will be creating a temporary semi vacation and not a solid future.
Re. quitting a job, you will be spending less money – no commute, clothing is what you want it to be, no lunches on the run etc. It adds up to more savings than you think. Then again, you may want to spend this on attending conferences.
Personally, you couldn’t pay me to take a corporate job. The satisfaction you get from creating your own job and jobs for others can’t be beat. I like being able to implement my ideas when and how I want to. Not everything works, but what does work brings lots of satisfaction and pride in your work.

InactiveIm just getting kiled with doing 3 weeks of paperwork for somthing I am going to spend 45 minutes implementing here lol, I am more of a creative person or idea man, not a follow the rules and fill out the forms kinda guy so Im pretty geared up start creating. Right now I leave the house at 6:30, get back home by 5:30.. hit the door running getting dinner, yardwork, coaching kids sports, running around till 10:30 then i work on sites, but this has really slown down as I can only fit so much into a day anymore. Wow looking at what I just wrote about 6:30 to 5:30 :flush: makes me realize its really not worth more than half my awake life!
All the comments have backed up my thoughts for years, once I get all my strigs tied, insurance covered and such I look to depart corporate life at the end of August. Lets see how it goes.
Once again thanks to everyone! and keep letting us know your thoughts.

InactiveMy decision to leave my day job was sort of easy in as I had worked as a contractor/consultant in the IT field for about five years prior, meaning I would pick the assignments/programming projects that I wanted and take time off when I wanted.
In 2001 I found online gambling and then created my software, portal and forum about six months later. After about a year and a half, once I had saved 3 months living expenses I quit cororate america and leaped out on faith each month praying to make enough to survive. hehe
I made a few rules for myself like waking up at the same time I did when going out to work just in case I’d have to go back it would not be such a drastic change for me. I also worked 8 to 12 hours a day.
I still wake up and start work before 8am and I also work a minimum of eight hours a day six days a week and I love it.
I forgot to add that I also took a year off to get married and travel and made the same income as before.

InactiveWhen your worst online monthly income figures are consistently higher than your most profitable offline monthly income figures, that’s when I’d quit.
