    Hi,

this guy is advertising in yahoo’s version of adwords, but I just can’t see why / how he intends on making money from it?

    http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=slot&ei=UTF-8&cop=mss&xargs=02u3hs9yoaKCstSjWzAFC1QsyyctRDWzMFBxBRAAaiEA%3D%3D&pstart=6&fr=fp-t

here’s the page his link takes you to:
    http://www.how2gamble.com/?SR=666893

there’s nothing that takes you to a banner farm, anywhere that I could find.

    curious.

the best I can figure is he’s going to run these how to ads for a while and then start promoting a different site and add banners to the how to site for when people return to learn a new game.

that’s a stretch but its the best I could figure.

The AA.com and Poker Charts banners have tracking codes on them. They could be affiliate links.

Another trick i’ve noticed some people doing lately is to make a informative site with no affiliate banners, get it placed in directories like DMOZ and Zeal as a non-commercial site. Once the site is in the directories the webmaster throws a few affiliate links up. The state that DMOZ is in it would take 6 months at least before they realise whats happening. By that time he’s in the google directory too, and been on top of the search results for having a few good links to his site.

I see his big banner for POKER CHARTS so I am assuming that since that site is a by registration only site he obtains user details and perhaps its a membership fee site or he just gets the details and spams…dunno…very strange

Ok, I didn’t realise AA.com is the site for American Airlines. I doubt they’d have affiliates.

Hmmmm….. aa.com and they have a free drink service (hic).

Pretty funny as AA is pretty well known to stand for Alcoholics Anonymous for God knows how long.

I don’t see that link on the Yahoo page.

The top link redirects to Golden Palace.

search for “slots” on yahoo without the “” and go to the second results page.

I figure the webmaster has created an affiliate-free site to get listed, and if probably going to be adding either pop-ups to an affiliate site or casino ads, now that his/her foot is in the door.

    Hi,

well Krystall pointed it out that he’s getting email addresses if nothing else. Well worth the small-time costs he’s paying for traffic.

I’ve have every intention of being up there with him very soon.
