Hard rock especially from the 80s or early 90s, Guns n’ Roses are my favourite.
One of the newest band I like nowdays is 30 Seconds to Mars.

I was at the first ever Edgefest in Molson Park featuring the Tragically Hip, i ended up in the bushes with my girlfriends best friend and missed most of the show(i know, i need serious help), but yeah they were good, the old Hip, the new stuff is a bit questionable

Same with NIN, the old stuff did the job nice, i can’t believe we have no Tool fans in the house, wtf, all these rockers and nobody mentions Tool, Alice In Chains, Nutshell and Down In A Hole are 2 killer AIC songs, and of course Pink Floyd, can’t remember how many times i saw them in concert, always a pleasure, basically any sound that can penetrate into my mind and absorb the rage inside is good, i hate stupid advertising jingles that stay in my head all day and make me go off, wait a minute, did i forget Ministry, these guys are classic, total underground, NWO, Just One Fix, Thieves, Bad Blood

    Hey, thanks for asking

Oddly enough i am partial to music without lyrics or any kind of point trying to be made, just good sounds, i hate spazz rock where some idiot is whining off key, alternatively i like lyrics that are from the heart and have real emotion behind them, someone like Bonnie Tyler from the 80’s, i find it incredibly arousing when a woman is singing to me about love and opening herself to me

Now you all know way too much about me

Damn that Youtube has everything, you might wanna spark one up if you’re gonna check out my video collection up there

I agree Nick the old “Hip” is by far better. First time I saw them was at a social event with approx 100 people. One of my friends insisted I go man was I blown away. The band seemed to have some sort of psychological effect on people. If they weren’t so busy trying to break into the U.S market perhaps they would still be as good?

Seeing we’re talking bands Nick do you remember Queen City Kids, Trooper, oh here’s a good one Loverboy. Man Canada has really pumped out some talent per Capita.
Rush always amazes me to think a three member band play the way they do. There are others Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, Bare Naked Ladies and others. Hey isn’t Nichle Back Canadian?

Pink Floyd I have been to one concert, by far the best band to see live. Peter Gabriel is another I really enjoy. Lately I have been listening too mainly Strange Advance. An 80’s band a yes New Wave, to bad they split up when the going was good.

Well you know i used to work event security for all the big concerts, so i met a lot of the Canadian bands/performers and some of the ones you mentioned, plus a bunch more that i still party with on the odd occassion, like the Headstones and others when i see them

I can tell you stories that would blow your mind buddy

Bare Naked Ladies, man those guys are such geeks, got drunk with buddy and watched him strike out with some chicky, now you know you’re a geek when you’re a famous musician and still can’t get no tail

I consider Skid Row Canadian(for some reason), they kicked ass

Ya i used to be right in that scene, playing guitar with all kinds of playa’s, fun stuff, plenty o tail

Got stoned with Willie Nelson one time, what a joker, kept saying “hey, how are ya”, then i’d start crackin up, then he’d start crackin up

Ya it was really funny, i was backstage with all the performers, mostly big outdoor events like the Friendship Festival at the Peace Bridge, they were like 2-3 day events, non stop partying and clowning around, you know, typical rock star stuff, never a sober moment, krist man, i’m Canadian, of course i smoke weed.

I really liked the rehearsels too, just coolin with the bands while they were writing songs, then they would ask me how this sounds, to which i would always reply, “i think it needs more edge”, a lot of fun, went up on stage once with some punk band when buddy didn’t wanna play his guitar in the rain, plus there was less than 100 people in attendance, i guess he thought he was special since he once played with the Sex Pistols or something

Best damn job ever, plenty of tail too, in case i forgot to mention, seems like a whole other lifetime ago now that i’ve become casino promoter extraordinaire

I should prolly go into more detail with those stories, so i’ll try to get a little diagram from one memorable event

    xxxxxxxxxx Stage xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxBeer tent ME

So it’s 30+ degrees celsius in the hot sun, i’m supposed to stand there and basically keep all the ugly chicky’s out, there’s no place to sit, no water to drink, but i can have as much free beer as i want and beer guy really wants to see how much i can drink for some reason, and i’m supposed to be like that for around 8 hours, it’s a big event, like a Woodstock type thing, 10+ bands one after another

Just behind me through the walkway are the bands warming up about to go on, basically they are just shmoozing with the girly’s.

Anyway, one girl, not bad looking, wants to go play with singer guy from the Bare Naked Ladies, the big guy with the glasses, so i’m thinking to myself, she’s not so bad, and i’ve heard you guys play, trust me, you’d better take whatever you can, so i holler over to buddy, “Yo man, this cutie wants in on you, you want me to bring her up”, buddy looks over at me in horror, like i knew that was his wife standing beside him, man, what kind of a geek brings his wife to a party with 1000’s of hotties.

Mind you, i was under orders by the other musicians to just let all the hotties back stage and we would sort them out later

So a few guys from the band thought that was pretty funny, and after they were done, the guitar guy was hangin out with me and hitting the beer tent trying to score some cuties without much luck, so i basically gave him a quick tutorial on how it was done, and all went well after that

Then a couple hours later, my buddy is up on stage, he’s in the Headstones, and after they finish the set, he grabs me to go out into the crowd and party and watch the rest of the bands, they put a towel over my security shirt and throw a cap on me so nobody will recognize me, i get the first newbie security guard i see and tell him to cover my post because something important came up, and i’m gone for the rest of the night, we got a little toasty with some cuties, watched the Tea Party, I Mother Earth, a few others i can’t remember, Our Lady Peace was up later but we were off by then, that evening is pretty cloudy, i remember some blondness but thats about it.

The next day i was working again, and it was a country western theme day featuring Willie Nelson and others, except this time i was away from the crowd backstage, basically trying to hide and sleep wherever i could, i was in rough shape, that’s when i bump into Willie and his over 40 gang, one of the guys asked, “are you supposed to be security ?”, i said “yep”, then we all laughed and buddy pulled out a huge spliff, Willie went up on stage stoned and did his thing, then after i bumped into him a few more times and he kept saying “hey, how are ya”, and i kept cracking up.

    Fun stuff
