I have a similar story as Splinter, I made the poker site, and forgot about it, then got a check.
Then because of other things in life I didn’t make too much effort with that site. Still, checks were rolling in (new affs: this doesn’t mean you just have to sit back and watch those checks rolling in lol, it was only a luck that I got some high rollers :P)

And this year I came back to these forums, tried out bingo, and fell in love with the game :)
And I thought: why not, let’s make a site dedicated to this niche. I found this niche much more rewarding, as I can see my stats, the signups, it was much easier to start out than it was with poker, I think because of less competitor and because bingo is treated as a soft gambling product, lots of blogger friends I have from the women’s interests niche are willing to link to me without any nightmare. So I could see the results sooner, and it made me uber motivated :D

So if you are someone like me, who want a prompt result on their investment (or at least you know that you can be demotivated with too much waiting), I can only suggest to start with a small niche, and forget about “online casino” “online poker” and such terms.

(Yvette, I’m planning to implement some recipes from time to time on my blog, would you be up for some guest-blogging? :)

My motivation is the fact that I’m in control of my own destiny to a certain extent. I have a passion for what I do and it’s not work to me at all plus it allows me to have a decent lifestyle that I really enjoy. There is always something new to learn and do so I never get bored.

I did not like all of the crap that goes on in corporate america and I realized in my early 20’s that the typical ‘work envirement’ was not for me. I don’t like doing the same thing daily or told when or how to do stuff.

I enjoy the thrill and the challenge that comes with being self employed along with the fact that I have the freedom to work when/how I want. Which usually consists of ten or more hours a day six days a week.

Having goals in life you want to achieve is what keeps me motivated – I have my dreams of doing X,Y and Z, no-one is gonna hand them to me on a plate so you have to put in the work to achieve them.

Nothing feels better than getting what you want through hard work :)

and i would LOVE to be a guest blogger! let me know when you are ready and ill start posting away! :hattip:

Its quite simple really. Its seeing my hardwork turn into the fruits of my labour.

Seeing my hours spent on the site being paid off, the satisfaction is just unbeatable.

Getting into a routine is vitally important…for me anyway..

If you do it full time as opposed to a hobby…try and get into a routine…ie work 9-5…rent a desk/office…that way you can stay focused and do what you need to do..and of course you can always take breaks/holidays when you want…just dont forget your laptop :)

2 Kids, 2 Mortgage Payments is what motivates me to make a living.

Not having a job is what motivates me to do some work everyday. I love sitting in front of the computer and tv (CNBC when the market is going) working on my businesses, trading stocks and keeping up on the world. I’ve always wanted to sit around the house and do stuff like this.

So, i’m basically retired, without the pension/social security to support not working. Getting that financial security is what keeps me trying new things and fixing up up the old.

Those are all really good ideas! But what happens if you stick to your routine and you dont get any results?

    1. If I am convinced that my concept is good, then I would wait if there are no immediate results, especially if I am the only one pursuing that concept.
    2. If others are having more success in implementing the same concept, then I would try to learn a few things from them.
    3. However, if I felt demotivated and lost faith in my concept, I would try something else.

I haven’t got much motivation at the moment to be honest!!!

I’ve put in so much time and am having such little results.

    Seriously, small.

I don’t know what all the clicks are that I am getting daily, but I haven’t even earnt the minimum with any of my affiliates in order to get paid.

I think what keeps me motivated is the fact I work for a great company – A company that is progressive and willing to try new things. My position is creative and progressive. I also get to chat with people all over the world – that is just cool!
On a personal note they also put family first and support the people who work for them:)

    Life is my motivation:tongue:
