InactiveI have to inform you that we have noticed that
many of the players you have brought to 888.com have denied their depositsI wonder if that is supposed to mean they had chargebacks?

InactiveWelcome to the 888 affiliate world. From previous posts on CAP this is common occurence. I consider your site to be one of the best around, why pollute you site with 888. I realize its’ a personal choice and I respect that. greek39

InactiveQuote:We regret that we have seen fit to take this action. If you believe that you can generate players who will be genuine players on 888.com and you do wish to continue to act as an affiliate then we would ask you to write to us expressing that desire and letting us know how you intend to bring “better quality” players to 888.com.I think I would have to reply; “GO F’ YOURSELF” :flamer:

InactiveMy reply to them was strongly worded, so it will be interesting to see if/what their response is. I have certainly followed along on the numerous problems their program has had and have taken note. Maybe that’s why I feel compelled to get to the bottom of this.
As for promoting them, we don’t really consider ourselves as a promotional site, yes we are providing a list of who we consider the best gambling sites, but the way we do it is very structured and personal opinion doesn’t really enter into the equation (it is a small part of the equation). Maybe that’s splitting hairs for what is and isn’t promotion, the point is our site has the goal of categorizing every online gambling site and presenting that to potential gamblers for them to decide. So, no matter if we are affiliated with 888 or not, we still want them listed on our site as it goes toward our credibility. (Note, we are probably 50% of the way to listing all online gambling sites).
The reason I’m saying this is to make the point that their assertion that we are purposely sending them bad traffic is almost laughable. It is the same traffic that would go to any other online gambling site listed with us. If we were purposely doing something that was driving bad traffic, I would just move onto the next program, but this is the first time we have ever received this type of correspondence and it seems to point to the larger problem with 888 and their contentious relationship with affiliates. If nothing else, maybe it serves as one more reason not to promote them.

InactiveBeen there – got that email – ranted away!
:nervous:Didn’t make a blind bit of differnce as there did not seem to be anyone at 888.con that was really interested in discussing it – or reviewing our website page or anything.
They’d decided to close the account because they were not making any money our of the players – and that was that.
Of course – we’ve done far better since we moved to rev share with other clients – and with the same traffic source too !!
:woohoo:You’re better off without them mate

InactiveMy name is James and I work for the 888.com Affiliate Program Team.
The Affiliate Program Team constantly reviews not only the work done by our affiliates in order to bring new players to 888.com but also the actions
taken by those new players generated by affiliates.# I can see nothing on playersjet that strikes me as “courting chargebackers”. ( link )
# An ecogra recommended portal. The eCOGRA Seal is one of the most important credentials in the online casino industry. An eCOGRA certified casino represents a casino that has taken the initiative to verify that their business practices are fair, credible and customer focused.888 are bang out of order, once again. This business practise is arbitrary and as the customer in this instance, webber has been mugged off.

InactiveI think you could easily reply with an “okay” and switch their ads to another program. If they ever did this to me, that would be my course of action. Of course, I don’t anticipate any problems.

InactiveTo anyone else…toss them before they toss you. 888.con is dead right.

InactiveActually received a response from 888.
Thank you for your reply, as it helps me understand your affiliate activities. I have visited and appreciated your site, even before deciding
to take this action. You are correct in saying that the initial traffic an affiliate sends to our
sites helps in establishing our outlook on that affiliate. In your case, the
little traffic you’ve sent has resulted in a $3000 chargeback – reflecting
in the negative revenue you are aware of. Since no further traffic was sent
to our sites, I ask you to see things from our side:An affiliate registers with the affiliate program under the revenue-share
plan.
A month or so later comes a player that deposits a very high amount, and
loses all on the Poker tables. This would be credited as revenue to the
affiliate.
Soon after, the player charges-back the deposits, resulting in negative
revenue for the house and the affiliate.
Traffic stops altogether. Now, regardless of the quality of the affiliate’s site, at the end of the
day we see nothing but “bad traffic”. So after reviewing the affiliate’s
activity and traffic history, we make a decision based on the facts at hand.In your case, I had studied the situation months ago and decided to
allow your account to remain active, in order to evaluate future traffic.
Since none arrived, I’ve decided to close your account both on counts of
inactivity and negative revenue. I’m sorry that this was not as clearly
stated in the email you received initially regarding this issue. Please do not hesitate to contact me for any further details regarding your
account’s status.Sincerely,
James
888.com
Affiliate Program TeamThis seems to be more arbitrary than receiving zero traffic. We track all of our click throughs and 888 and Pacific have received 429 unique visitors from our site in the last 18 months. Hardly what James is alledging.
The result is not really a big deal for us, since you can clearly see that we weren’t generating any positive revenue with 888 to begin with, but for any other affiliates out there looking at 888, beware.

InactiveMaybe you should scrape and spam. Then, I am sure your account would remain ‘open for business’

InactiveI’ve decided to close your account both on counts of
inactivity and negative revenueWell, I better not promote them.
I always cut off all traffic if an account is negative.
I’ll always send players where they make me $ instead, make up for the lack of income from the negatve account.
I figure if the program is worth it’s salt, the casino will retain current players long enough to pay off the negative, and then I can send players again.
Now, these are only chargeback negatives, which are rare for me.
With negative comissions, I usually don’t ever go back once I am gone.

InactivePerhaps if they had told you they were reviewing the account and given you an opportunity to work with them then it might have been different. How did they expect the situation to get better if they never told you about it? We all rotate properties to keep our sites fresh, remove non-performers and a myriad of other reasons.
Another clear case of looking at the numbers and that’s it. Now I know that gambling is a numbers game but beancounter type people should not be decision makers.
