The only reason he picked her was to try and get all the woman that are pissed Obama didnt pick Clinton. I dont think it was a responseble pick, if the VP is supposed to be a back up if the president dies then the person running for president should pick the person they feel would be the next best person to be president and I think eveyone including republicans can agree it aint her.

So the latest, which republican’s deny, is that she was a member of the Alaska Independence Party that sought a vote on whether Alaska should Secede from the US.

Edited: sounds like her husband was a member and she attended a covention with him.

That’s what the US needs, a VP that wants states to leave the Union.

This is all pretty bizarre, really sounds like McCains got a bit more than he bargained for.

    Nice.:sarcasm:

I like to wait until all the evidence is in, before deliberating.

Actually it is EXACTLY what the US needs. (and the world).

Every election shows a signifcant dichotomy with the two coastal parts of the United states seemingly bathed in Democrat blue and the US continental heartland covered in Republican red.

The US has got too big, too unmanageable, and the governmental agencies now simply think that they’re above basic international law. There is widespread apathy towards the elections and genreal discontent with the lack of representation.

So … let individual states go their own way.
Texas, California and Florida would be major international players in their own right.

How come it’s OK in Yugoslavia and Russia, but not close to home in North America.
    :wink-wink

Hey it’s fine for people to discuss that.
    but
It’s pretty silly to elect someone to protect and defend the constitution, who has supported (now it’s turned out to be her husband, not her, it’s hypothetical) breaking away from the union.

I also disagree with your notion that problems in the US would be solved by splitting up. In fact the problem with the US, Canada and other similar Federal systems, is that the very idea states/provinces within a federal system, is to allow each area to obtain/retain it’s own culture and characteristics. This makes countries built around a federal system inherently less homogenous.

I frankly have found the idea that the US should have 50 state governments dealing with schools, policing, welfare, etc. a huge waste. Conservatives in the US, love to fight waste, then go and push more governance and taxation to the state level so that there can be 50 duplicate fiefdoms to build political systems, bureaucracies and waste money.

i think the US red/blue split has been engineered by the republicans who want to localize all government where the democrats tend to want everything to be a national standard level.

Having said all this, it’s certainly an interesting election, with Joe Biden being the only guy who would be on the ticket in a “standard” election.

That won’t work because many women were for Hillary because she would not ban abortions. Sarah is anti abortion.
