wooMemberA lot of my friends are programmers. Some work 40 hours a weeks for other guys to make THEM money and get a little salary.
I think affiliates are more like businessmen, you have to create a business, write salesletters, analyse your competion, find markets, have fresh ideas… That are things the technical guys do not like/want/know much about. They simply do not want to care about such things…
I myself was such a guy at the age of 19. I was obsessed with java programming. Then started to study business at the university and 2 years ago found out how to make money online as an affiliate.
Many people do not believe you can make a living online (And that is GOOD !! Why talking about that? The more people start their online businesses the more competition grows up.). A good friend of mine who just graduated and was looking for a job at RolandBerger/McKinsey told me (after I told him how much I earn online): “I hope you find a real job”. :roflmao: Nothing against RolandBerger/McKinsey, but how much do you earn there? And how many hours are you working per day ??
:santa2:

innoneMemberaffiliates, there are many paths leading to that. like being a top poker pro. everyone is different.
motivation and the unwillingness to work a regular job are #1 qualities.
there is no particular skill set as you can outsource everything; so it is primarily strategy, what site do you build, how you promote, what keyword you target, how you grow. just like any business.

arturs.vitolsMemberIt seems many people agree that motivation is a big factor. I am rethinking the issue with being unwilling to work for someone else though. I know a few affiliates that like their jobs but have an affiliate site set up to earn vacation money. They don’t plan on ever going full time, but enjoy the hobby.
Is anyone here in that scenario?
