    3 possible reasons.

    1. They forgot – not likely
    2. They sold the site – somewhat likely
    3. They are pricks – very likely

If you are looking for an honest link partner, shoot me a private message.

Name and shame – it’s the only way to keep some people honest!

P.S. Am also looking for good links.

Oh I will be listing them all for sure but it will take awhile with 4k+ links. Some can be excused (the sites taken down) but others have been link partners since 2002 and did this. Some of the folks are people I have mett in person and are the so called cream of the crop if you will. :unhappy:

I am doing my audit on my links pages (have not done it in awhile) and I notice that quite a lot of people have taken down their links pages or have only a handfull of links. Some have even setup the original link as a redirect to another website. To me this makes me sick, I never noticed this being so bad till now.

Or did I miss the meeting where everyone said honest linking is no longer important?

I’ve been having this exact conversation with webmasters on a weekly basis. Some are finding their links are gone within a week. I’d understand if a link goes missing or gets pulled down after 6 months (thats just me)… but anything less.. *shakes head*

Well most will be shocked with my final list.

In my opinion unless someone removes your link there should be no reason to remove a link partner. Even if you sold a site seeing how incoming links are so important the buyer unless wanting a whole new direction should always maintain a link page. Thats like someone giving you link work for free! haha so after some thought ill scratch that one for an excuse.

The way I see it, its dirty dirty dirty no matter the reason (minus the site being taken down)

So_Oo those of you that done this.. you might want to see if your site is on mine and fix the bs before I show people your way of doing things. OR how about just a VERY SOLID reason for it?

Well a partial list is on the page below. Its the sites that appear to have taken down their linkspages totally. All have been checked, mailed and remailed. Figure that was a nice thing to do in itself in case someone did not know their link page was down.
Now the pages are on the way to be deleted once the checker comes back. I want to keep up the page for a few days before I delete. Some of them I have talked to are just arrogant and believe they have a site of to much value to link with others :) well I find that funny unless your a household site like “sears.com” or maybe “casinos.com” lol. 2nd, they delinked because I dropped in PR. This is due to being hacked and of course all the outgoing links. However, people still bother with PR? I have had pr5-pr0 and it has never effected my bottom line.. :tooconfus

Just for the one guy interested in what I am going :) Ill put out list 2 of people who have links pages yet taken my link and others off. The idea for most should be to make sure your not linking to them. When you do find one make sure your not linking with them with other sites. All seems like a big waste of time however in the long run I think it will work out for the best for anyone that takes the time to do this.

Its not viewable by public and I made it list 50 pages at a time. Right click “properties” to see the link.

I am likely one of the culprits.

I ran into the same thing and decided to take all links down and quit linking at all except for a handful of links on my index.

I got sick and tired of chasing down links and decided that it just wasn’t worth it anymore.

Besides, my site is old and huge, it has collected enough natural links over the last ten years, and I need the juice for internal linking because I have a lot of deep pages.

I just simply got too frustrated. Going over all links once a week still wasn’t enough to catch them all.

I am not going back to linking unless something drastically different happens in SEO and I am forced to.

Yeah you were one of them but you also do so much for this business that it can be overlooked IMO.

I did it for the very reason you complain about – the links keep disappearing. I just got sick of it all.

I posted because I agree with you.

    Agrees with Diceman and Dom.

Its dastardly when you work so hard on a link / seo campaign, have a spend budget, and a week later your links are pulled down.

I’ve actually even paid for links, and found a month later, my article / link is gone, or a javascript or no follow has been added so not to pass on link juice.

    Dastardly!

Last July 23/10, we decided to stop using Links Manager because we felt it was not a benefit for us or for our link partners. All it became was a link farm and they were not benefiting the user. Many of the sites that we were linking to were very similar to ours and were not offering anything different. Our new approach for linking is to add sites that offer the user something that we don’t have on our site. Even if that means not getting a link back.

On that date, we sent out an email to all our linking partners through Links Manager letting everyone know that we were removing all links.

We got very few replies back out of the 100’s sent so at that time we created threads at both CAP (http://www.casinoaffiliateprograms.com/bb/41388-link-removal.html) and at the GPWA (Link Removal – Gambling Portal Webmasters Association).

So finally here I am at the end and the final list. This list are people who have partial link pages and or removed all links other than a handfull. I am not making this list to “expose” anyone however just trying to secure the link enchange once again. I have tried all ways to contact everyone in this list and have on more than one occasion.

However, please check you are not linking to any of the links I have listed if they are not listing you!

Free Online Casinos – Free online casino money bonuses! – Email Sent sorry the link is strange.. if someone can edit could I only get the actual link to show please?

The page will be taken down and links removed in a few days.
