there is an upfront fee for setting it up and royalty fees paid on a monthly basis.

if you are looking for software like playtech or microgaming, then it would be quite expensive. i saw somewhere that with playtech, you have to have $5,000,000 in an escrow account to be spent on marketing, plus there is a fee for setting up the casino. maybe that figure is a bit inflated, but its definitely expensive…

If you want to make anhonest income you have to go with one of the well known companies, which will charge you higher amounts for a better service.
There are numerous gambling software providers that will sell their software for a few Grand, but you would have a much harder time when trying to gain your customer’s trust.
If you have funds to hire a staff of employees, buy a license, software and are prepared to also swallow some initial losses, I am looking forward to see your Casino online in the future! :)

From what I gather, if you want a reputable place such as microgaming, with their extended support and funds to pay winners and affiliates and the appropriate staff, licencing, design etc. etc., it will run you some 1 1/2 million or thereabouts.

It’s definitely not as simple as it looks… It’s not for the tightly budgeted or faint hearted. And the competition is fierce, you will have to compete against established brands who have spent years gaining trust from players and affiliates…

Being knowledgeable in the affiliate market and as a player gives you an edge, but being an operator is a whole different ballgame and gives a new perspective to just about everything.

There are ways to do it on the cheap, but the rate of failure is a lot higher and it will be a lot harder to gain any trust.

This couldn’t be more true, it’s certainly not the right business to start without proper funding, a clear vision for what market you are going to appeal to the midset that it’s going to be a slow start.

For $10k I would buy an established affiliate site that is making money and build both 1) a player database 2) immediate earnings 3) an established traffic source to your future online casino brand

    Hope this helps!

If I was an affiliate, I would stick to that because I believe it’s easier to create a niche that for an operator.

Using Microgaming/Playtech etc does not guarantee anything as (Dominique said :)) you are competing against established brands.

Also, software platforms operate their own skins so its impossible to compete as you are paying out operator costs too.

Plus, you need a hefty infrasture and plenty of cash to make it a success. Look at Mansion for example, spent a fortune and are still trying to gain a foothold in the market.

I would stick to unique quality content of affiliate sites :)

Come to think of it, should I change profession?!

Only kidding, it’s harder than you think.

As everyone else has said, it’s very expensive, and very difficult. Most people would probably need some serious backing, which would of course mean someone else getting a massive cut of your profits.

You should enquire about a skin first, I know sites like Jackpotjoy or Getminted offer a white label. This would be the route I would take.

between white label [skin] and full operation sits managed turnkey. you get your own brand, affiliate system, greater % payout and all you handle is marketing, for a much lower cost [range $50K – $250K]. here are a few i’ve found:

    http://www.wagerworks.com
    http://www.parlaygroup.com
    http://www.chartwellgames.com
    http://www.stminverltd.com
    http://www.aquagaming.com
    http://www.b3wgroup.com

we’ve been looking into this lately since our G-FED/CGTV based casino left the US market. hope that helps. :santa2:

Before starting my affiliate, I had spent some time to do some ROI for establishing a full casino site as well as for the white label (skin) option. For a full casino using top brand software like Microgaming etc., you will not only need minimum $1-1,5 Million, but also a very solid IT infrastructure, a competent team for running the show, lots of insurances to back up things like a whale making lots winning etc.. In case of white label, you don’t have all those problems, but even then you will need something between $50-200K and you really don’t know how much you are really going to earn. My conclusion was that starting with an affiliate is the best alternative if you do not have a couple of million dollar cash in your hand. If you don’t have that money, the best ROI comes from, I think, starting with one affiliate site and then expand to cover interesting niches.

Hi, I have two questions about this topic. Hopefully someone can help me out.

Anyone know if it is “completely” illegal to run your own white label / skin casino from the United States or is it still “gray area” since you don’t handle financial transactions?

Also, has anyone done business with this company called Total E Soft? They advertise everywhere about white label solutions, their price is not bad and lots of games, but the few clients they feature appears to be operated by them. If anyone had experience with this company good/bad, please post.

I also think about estiblishing my own casino a few years ago. however, I had to give up as the expense were too high to afford. The best way to start up is to build an unique content rich affiliate site to cut into this huge profitable market. A sucessful affiliate site makes you a fortune more than a small company does.
