how many times did lakers take the trophy home in the last few years? if it was more than once, then you could just simply blame it on complacency and content. sometimes teams just can’t keep the motivation to continue on winning all the time.
Sorry Lou, I lived in LA and went to many many games with Magic, Kareem and also with Shaq and Kobi, they lost it when they turned the team over to Kobi.
One player does not make a team and this is the only time I was happy to see the Celtics win.
