misswiggMemberI think this is the new trend, once one program does it, it becomes more acceptable and others will follow which is whats happening

Inactivecrazy what the term Rougue does when it replaced the review of a casino on a lot of portals..
If they want to do those terms onnew acounts its ok, they have the ability to shoot themselves in the foot as most people will not promote them, but if they change in mid stream they are in fact rogued..

InactiveWhy does it matter if the affy sends just 1 player every 3 months or every year for that matter? It’s possibly a player they would have never had if it weren’t for that affy so refusing to pay because they hadn’t met a quota is underhanded.
Sure if its in the terms and it’s not something that has been newly enacted and enforced retroactively, eg the affiliates have agreed to those terms by acceptance of said terms, then it can’t really be considered rogue, but witout any doubt it is predatory! I know a lot of these programs would likely say ‘well we’ve never enforced it’, well then why is it there?
Could you please share more info about the 4 progams you discovered?

bosshoggsMemberYes… please share info on the programs that are mandating this. I find this a little strange. Could this act like a deterrent to affiliates?
In my experience, you catch a lot more flies with honey than you do with vinegar… Don’t you agree that a better way to rev-up traffic would be through cool affiliate promotions? What I always LOVED to run were affiliate promotions where once a partner hit a certain commission point they could win something (a laptop, iphone, etc.) Not forcing people to hit certain quotas…
Positive reinforcement!!! Always a winner

InactiveI do not and will not promote programs with quotas, and if any that I promote add quotas, they will see themselves dropped.

InactiveBetIslands = 2.2 “Active Affiliate” is any Affiliate that refers an aggregate of (3) or more Customers to Betislands.com in a 90 day period.
Jazz Sports = 2.2 “Active Affiliate” is and Affiliate that refers an aggregate of (5) or more Customers to Jazzsports.com in a 90 day period. . Contact JazzSports.com Affiliates for details or variances.
GT Revenue (GTBets) = *You will be paid commissions for the lifetime of your player as long as you refer at least 3 legitimate purchasing players during each 3 month rolling period. If any 3-month time period should lapse in which you do not refer at least 3 purchasing players, you will forfeit the right to any future commissions on players referred previously and your affiliate account will be closed. Your affiliate manager is always available to help you develop a plan for success. Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the Program Manager. * I was told by a program rep that this may be reworded.
EZ Street = 2.2 **Active Affiliate” is and Affiliate that refers an aggregate of (1) or more Customers to EZStreetSports.com in a 90 day period. . Contact EZStreetSports.com Affiliates for details or variances.** This was dropped from 3 players every 3 months.
That is the four I was referring too. Last checked at time of this post.

InactiveSo what do you think of terms like these?
March 1, 2012 at 5:23 pm #822078
bosshoggsMemberThanks for sharing these details.
Truthfully, these terms are surprising… As I mentioned before… don’t you think it would be more effective to “award” affiliates, rather than forcing certain tiers on them that they must hit in order to get paid?
A firm believer of “there’s two side to every story,” have these programs come forward with their reasoning behind these terms? That I’m very curious about…

They Stink!
Unless you are already a big affiliate with them I’d drop ’em like a ‘flaming bag of pooh’.
