EyeOfTheTigerMemberMan! That sucks. Sometimes bad luck just comes one after another. Keep your chin up and your eyes on the prize. Good luck!

triplecrownMemberThank you for sharing Dom. I’m going to go over my sites now.
I agree with you in that it really, really sucks to have your site deemed “dangerous”, when it’s not. Dom, your website is personal, so it’s only natural that you would be offended. Keep trying.
Best of luck to you.

InactiveWhat makes me so mad is the scam aspect of it.
1. Site Avisor, a daughter company of Macafee, redflags me.
2. Macafee then sells me an expensive certification promising removal of the red flag.
3. Site Advisor refuses to remove the flag despite everything being fixed and approved my Macafee.
4. I am out of the exorbatent fee paid to Macafee for the certification and appear as scam site all over Yahoo.
Darn crooks!

InactiveI have been told by Site Advisor that the best way to combat the red flag is to get positive (green) reviews.
I would suggest that everyone create a profile over at site advisor and firstly put a comment about their own site, and secondly if there are any red links from your site, go there and put positive reviews there..
There is a guy called Colorado Chris who constantly posts negative things about sites in our industry. It’s harsh. The guy posts comments that are not even true about spyware etc.. They shouldn’t even be letting these comments be posted without checking them first that they are correct. Someone could easily put a company out of business because of this. It’s Bull#&$%

InactiveI noticed that some time ago on your site in Yahoo and was wondering what the deal was since you are definitely one of the reputable people in this industry. Sucks that they can’t get their act together. Good luck in your fight, maybe if you threaten legal action something could actually happen.

InactiveDone that, wrote to their lawyer and copied mine. The reply was: “go ahead and file a suit”.

Inactivei noticed it on one of my site
jut download links and affiliate links. So, a download link is bad i guess?

InactiveThe problem here is : a lot of what McAfee Site Advisor and Norton’s equivalent program do is potentially libelous. This is, of course, testable in a court of law.
However, for our industry, it’s tricky. These companies want to be seen as ‘protecting the comsumer’ but they’re never going to red flag Ladbrokes or William Hill or someone..because those are companies that will wipe the floor with them and are clearly running legal businesses under UK and European law.
So, instead, they justify their existence by ‘red flagging’ major affiliate players in the industry and offshore sportsbooks they know aren’t in a position to win a court case.
It’s all about Norton and McAfee convincing people that their product has a value it actually doesn’t have.

Not all of them, some of them are as far as they are concerned.

InactiveIn G&C’s case – there are three problems:
1. RubyFortune – the name they used to tag the Microgaming casino download app.
2. CasOnline – a generic tag they’ve used for casinos – but in this case is BeTheDealer.
3. OnlinePlayersUnion.com, which is red because G&C links to it.Site Advisor will not listen to you. I do not trust anything McAfee-related – even though my cousin was Director of Virus Research for them some time ago and probably still has some affiliation – he can’t do anything about management decisions.
The only thing you can really do is vote with your feet – don’t buy anything McAfee related – if a computer manufacturer bundles McAfee, tell them you will not purchase any of their equipment which is bundled with McAfee products, etc.

InactiveThe links were long removed… as soon as they discovered them, and they know it and just refuse to lift the flag.
Maybe they have a quota as to how many flags they want to show to make Yahoo feel they are getting their money’s worth.
Maybe Yahoo is grateful to be told that one of their top listings has dangerous content and feel that cleans up their results and makes site advisor worth the money. I am just a pawn in their game and there isn’t a damn thing I can do about it.

InactiveSite advisor changed the listing today – and it makes no sense at all.

It still says we have one red download, but it doesn’t show any red downloads, mostly yellow.
And, of course we haven’t had any downloads whatsoever in months.

InactiveI just checked it out Dom and I’m actually wondering why the exes for our brands are showing as Ruby Fortune… I’m so confused.
I’m going to quote myself here and say that I think natural selection is being eaten by the bigger animals :sarcasm:
