InactiveJohn,
Depending on the type of contest you offer.
Some contests are strictly aimed at top performing affiliates (like the ReferBack contest a few years ago where they gave away a car to Shawn). These contests are overlooked by the medium to smaller affiliate as they feel they have no chance of getting the prize.
Some of the best contests I find is setting specific goals which are achievable by affiliate promoting your property. An example of this is to give an extra $2,000 to the affiliate who brings in the biggest depositor for the month of January.
At VIP Profits just before I left they ran a contest giving away a free trip to Las Vegas for the affiliate who brings in the first 20 or so player signups using their new affiliate link (this is aimed to get the affiliate to change over to the new system).
Contests are a good thing as long as you do not overdo it.

InactiveI will agree the key is making it fair for each and every affiliate.
Though I didnt have time to compete in your “banner design” contest I liked the idea. Be nice to award sites on any number of criteria as well as strictly top performance.

InactiveI agree with Arkyt. The trick is to make contests fair for all webmasters.
As a smaller aff. I can confirm that I don’t even try to participate in any contest based on performance.
I liked the ‘holiday cash’ promotion you run last month, because it gave everybody the possibility to make a little extra.January 21, 2004 at 11:05 am #643827Anonymous
InactiveI agree that contests for all work … If you do for the big senders also do for the little senders …
say you have a contest make a few categories and prizes, say you have a aff that sends 2 or 3 players a month which you have a lot of these guys… well for them whoever improves the most give them a bonus for the winner and 1 or 2 runners up … as well you will get more exposure !
as well the top end contests work also for the bigger affiliates too. The prophet , Jason and Lucky Dragon fought that contest at referback down to the wire pretty good and boosted the casinos income as well …
No matter what you will get a increase in players as long as you make sure that contests include a incentive for all of the affiliates in the program.

I really like your Advantage Program Points System overall.

Thanks professor it seems that math is in our blood

But John Seems to be a little mathematically challenged
You can never reverse a perfect formula like that
Just think what would happen if you reversed E=mc²

H + M = I
Honesty + Money = Increase in exposure
Cheaters never win!
