    Great webinar.

I like the tips about setting up your site to automatically redirect mobile visitors from youdomain.com to m.youdomain.com

I’t less of a hassle than a separate .mobi and certainly takes fullest advantage of visitors being both mobile and computer based.

Now all I have to do is find a script and create a true mobile version.

I wish there was a free wordpress mobile theme with a clean white uncluttered look. I’m currently using mobius and the color options are dark – and it includes a sidebar – which seems to be anti-mobile friendly even when left blank.

Yes, we listened and asked questions while we were working on our sites today. It’s great to be able to listen and learn while you’re working.

The webinar also confirmed a few things we have already done on our mobile site.

    Thanks Jill and Henrik!

Henrik should post his contact information on this thread.

Hi JillO and everyone who joined in the seminar

I agree, the webinar has provided a good insight into mobile marketing and which approach to take when it comes down to your own strategy. I suppose, some of the stuff I already knew, but it’s always good to reiterate.

Interesting was the discussion, in which ‘format’ to provide your mobile site in. I would usually agree to create a mobile friendly web version (not app) with only the key information visible. The obvious target here would be direct conversions via sign up buttons, direct access to games etc. (Customers = maybe the ones with ‘big fingers’ who miss smaller objects on the screen?)

However, what about mobile users who browse your site for information and not a direct conversion? Would a complete mobile friendly approach with only key elements not exclude these users? The ones that are looking for info and not the Play Now button only. (Customers = the ones that also zoom in on their screens?). I guess there is no one solution.

In regards to creating mobile friendly sites, I will do a little research. I’ve worked with some people who have been using some browser-based industry standard software, which appeared quite flexible when it comes to creating mobile friendly sites.

One thing I’m still wondering though is: If you look up a website optimized for desktop use on your mobile and click on an Affiliate link that redirects you to the mobile version of the Online Casino, is the registration still being tracked or lost? If there is mobile specific tracking, then I am guilty of still not having applied those (I have no website in place optimized for mobile use). Any ideas?

    Cheers!

    Hi Hermski,

Those are some great questions. For users just looking for more information, I’d say put a button/link similar to those created for playing “Slots”, “BlackJack”, etc but it’d just say “More Info” or “Curious About Mobile Gaming?”.. Something along those lines and that link would just take them to a mobile friendly and dedicated page you created to give them additional info on mobile iGaming. On the bottom of that, of course, would be links to “Play Now”. I’m sure if you got with a mobile developer, they would be able to build you a button the same way they built the game buttons.

As far as the tracking, that is something I’d think is different with each and every affiliate program. I’d check with my AM before promoting their brands for mobile.

I’ve reached out to Henrik to see if he may have some time to join us on the forums.

    Cheers,
    John

    QRCode

I too always wondered if we were actually getting credit for our mobile traffic. I believe Henrik said it was true for some mobile users accessing mobile sites. I had assumed that I had a better chance of actually getting credit when the user assessed via a desktop and registered from there.

Using a QR code that actually contains your aff link is much safer. (There are free QR code generators)

    QRCode

They can act like your own little url shorteners (slick)

FYI – Google blogger is mobile friendly.

If you access a site with a desktop/laptop you get a standard version.

If you access a site with a mobile phone (As I did from my desktop via firefox with the iphone emulator user agent switcher plugin : Create Mobile Website Checklist ) you get a mobile version with the option to ‘View web version’.

If affiliates want to play around and experiment, it is a great place to do it quickly, easily and for free. With one simple account you get free hosting and all the tech knowhow from google backing you up.

    Example
Regular US Access – Free Mobile Bonuses
Mobile access from the US – Free Mobile Bonuses
Access from the UK – Free Mobile Bonuses
Mobile access from the UK – Free Mobile Bonuses

There are of course limitations there. But if you link some items from a regular website of your own you can do more. It also has built-in default g+1, tweet and like buttons
