    Okay,

I run every program I have and all detect nothing?

My PC is still shutting down on me, sometimes rapidly other times after a few minutes.

Also when I shut down the PC starts up on its own?

Any other ideas, suggestions, softwares, etc… ?

    Thanks,

I thought of using system restore, but if the trojan is now in my startup files or something would it still not be around?

Is this is Good temporary fix?

Did you download another anti virus program? Sometimes this pnenomena can occur when two programs conflict. If so, use safe mode and delete if possible. Could try system restore back date it for 3 days. If it still persists I still have few ideas.

For msconfig you could try under general click Diagnostic startup and reboot and see if your system is stable. greek39

Well, I started Hitman and ad-aware found a registry problem, unfortunately before the program ended the PC shut down on me.

Now it won’t boot, looks like my hard drive is screwed :(

When I startup it just shuts down, sometimes I can get to my desktop but only or about 10 seconds before it shuts down, it then just keeps re-starting and shutting dwn.

I noticed twice it said overclocking error, but I think that has to do with the rapid re-booting.

As far as internet connection I’m on satellite (2 way high speed)

I’ve disconnectd the connection from that PC, I’m on my laptop now.

Most people throw out their PC’s by now. But a hard drives can take a lot of abuse. I seriously don’t think your hard drive is junk. Its hard to figure out the problem remotely.

This very same thing happened to me a few months ago. The windows program is infected with a virus. In your registry a malicious key has been installed instructing your system to cause these failures.

Well if your quick on the draw go to start>>>run>>> type in shutdown -a hit enter. This might buy you enough time to get that key otta there.

If it don’t work, hit the yellow pages and call up the “geek squad”. I seriously don’t think there is anything wrong with your PC other than it having a trojan on board. greek39

    Greek,

I’m in now, any particular Key I should be looking for?

I know its nearly impossible but any guesses, last question for you, and thanks for the help.

One last thing, now it says windows must be re-activated within 3 days.

I’m done thinking, time to take it to the doctors.

Its’ hard to say because there are so many keys in the windows registry. But usually it will reside windows>>>system32. The key will be connected to an actual executable file. The spyware program should show you the exact location, if you can get it operating. Try openning the AVG to determine the path of the infected program. Once found manually delete it.

If you manage to fix this problem, which I think you will, you will have good understanding on how this stuff works. I know your probably a little fustrated, but take the time to learn and in the future it will pay back.

The last one I received, I zipped up and sent it back.

Have to be careful with the registry so a quess wouldn’t be a good idea. Also I would make sure your fan is operating properly.

Worse case scenerio I could fly out there. greek39

Sorry I couldn’t of been more useful. Trojans have to be acted on very quickly, some will shut down everything. I beleive your PC is okay however trojan did not migrate to your hard drive, which is good.

But at least you can walk away knowing a little more. On a final note always before logging out, always disconnect and erase your tracks. greek39
