Yep a nice change, but as far as I’m concerned, having anything close to that term keeps me from signing up.

Affiliates cost nearly nothing…..but the LACK OF costs dearly.

Now I’m not saying that an affiliate program for a casino costs nothing, but the difference of having 500 affiliates or 1500 affiliates does not incur the kinds of costs most programs would have you believe.

In most cases the additional costs are some hard drive space and a small additional burden on the database server….and a bit of bandwith.

But the lack of those 1000 additional affiliates can easily be over 10,000 websites the property will not be advertised.

So what if that small affiliate that only has a couple of sites, and does this business as a hobby or for a little additional income, so what if he only hits the minimum once every 8 or 10 months….

PAY HIM! and thank him for advertising your product as he has helped with branding too!

They will pay him if you read carefully. They may just chose to terminate his account but I think this is highly unlikely in any case.

Yes, the small affiliate now stands to get paid…and this is an improvement….BUT…

They can terminate the affiliate agreement at that point….meaning future revenues are kept.

It also means that this person now has pages up that will link to programs he isn’t getting paid for, links on other pages to take down etc…etc…

I can understand your point and will take this up with Pierrick upon his return (2 weeks) to the office.

While I believe that this term allows affiliates to be paid their due, I can also understand where it is possible to have players and still not have earnings for 6 months in succession. In this infrequent case, it may be possible to use this term to terminate an account which may cancel future commissions.

To be fair, though, all programs have clauses which will allow this to occur. The difference is other programs state that they may terminate the agreement ‘for any reason’.

It will be brought up, though, and thank you for bringing this to attention.

    Point well taken Kwblue.

I will most certainly take these ideas in to consideration when deciding on properties to promote, but again, since this group doesn’t take US Players, it makes the risk of the above happening even more likely with more affiliates.

I can vouch for Pierrick being one of the most helpful affiliate managers to work with in the industry. You’re highly unlikely to find a problem in my opinion…he always seems to come up with solutions that please people.
