InactiveI have the same question. Mine worked until I installed the service pack and now it doesn’t.

InactiveI’m running XP with Service Pack 2, and I don’t have any problems viewing source code. Occasionally I will come across a site where I’m not able to view the source, but I can usually get around that by opening the page in a new window (hold down Control and press the letter N). Then in the new window, view the source.
Also, it may not be XP that is causing the problem — it could be your browser. Try a different browser (e.g. Mozilla Firefox or Opera). Or try clearing all the temp files.
If those ideas don’t work, save the webpage to your hard drive, then go in and open the html file with notepad to view the source. (Right click on the file, Open With… Notepad.)
One way or another, you can get around these little inconveniences.

InactiveThanks Dave.
The Microsoft people explained to me that servicepack 2 has bad interactions with a number of programs causing trouble with some people and not others. They did not have a list of these programs and said they still didn’t know what they all were.
Other than losing all my outlook content until they helped me recover it, I have had no problems except the source code. I mostly just want it for mailers and love your suggestion of opening it into a text file.
I know everyone loves firefox – I used opera for a while, and I tried the others but I always come back to IE. I am just most comfortable with it.

InactiveGlad I could help out. 😎

LOL! :roflmao: Quite the operation Microsoft is running, isn’t it?
I always seem to come back to IE too. I used Firefox for a while, but something about it started to bug me (I can’t remember exactly what it was). Something didn’t work right… I vaguely remember encountering blank spaces on one of the affiliate login pages (where there would normally be login prompts).
I try to design my sites for both IE and Firefox, since Firefox is steadily increasing in popularity, according to this resource.

InactiveOne thing that always works for me. In IE go to the Tools Menu –> Internet Options. Then press the ‘Delete Files’ button. It might take a few minutes so make yourself a cup of coffee while you wait.
Thanks to the member who showed me this.
