LucretiaMemberThanks J. but I would never add adsense to my sites as it makes no sense because I do not want to exchange hard earned traffic for adsense clicks.

MOST POEPLE WILL KNOW THIS BUT I DID NOT AND AS A RESULT I NEARLY LOST ££££’s IN GOOGLE ADSENSE EARNINGS PLUS A BAN FOR ALL OF MY SITES (GAMBLING AND NON-GAMBLING RELATED) BECAUSE I DID NOT TAKE THE TIME TO READ ‘BIG G’s’ TOS !!!
I have been using AdSense on my gambling portal for about 3 months now with no problems at all!
Then suddenly I noticed that my AdSense would not work or show!!! After investigation I learned that if you own a Gambling Related Website (Poker, Casinos, Bingo & Betting etc) you are not allowed to place AdSense within your pages………. Doing so will have you effectively slapped / banned from using Google AdSense whatsoever in the future.
I own several business related websites as well as my gambling portal and If I did not contact Google when I did, they (Google) was about to ban every website I have from using AdSense again now or in the future including not releasing my AdSense Earnings as Google Harshly informed me today.
GOOGLE ADSENSE IS NOT ALLOWED ON GAMBLING RELATED WEBSITES AND GOOGLE ARE EFFECTIVELY HUNTING FOR THOSE WHO ARE ABUSING THE TOSs
Please do not make the same mistake as me as I have clearly been lucky and Google informed me that I am a rare case to catch this issue in time!!! Google will keep your earnings and stop you from using AdSense on any website you may own (gambling / non-gambling)
I hope this saves some of you from a lot of hassle………..
Regards
How did you know that you were banned ? Did a message appear for you when you logged in ? Were you prohibited from logging in ? Did you get an Email message from them ?

sudarmaMemberHello,
Well Google did not actually inform me at all and I only realised when I noticed the AdSense was not showing throughout my gambling portal web pages (at all) like they had been for the past three month.
After investigation and after also after spending over 2 hours trying to contact Google by phone I managed to get through to their Ireland offices….. At this point I was informed the reasons for them not showing the AdSense on my site any more and also that I my account had been was actually in line to be banned (all my sites – gambling and non-gambling) from using AdSense again. I was also informed that once this have been done I would have also lost my earnings held with them…..
Apparently Big G is having hunt for the sites just like mine and similar that are breaking Google’s TOS’s
Hope this info helped !
Regards

InactiveThe funny thing is someone told me if you dump a small bit of adsense on your site you can help your rankings as Google will rank sites with adsense on them – Unethical of them but hey thats Google! Guess you have to do it and not get caught….

xentechMemberIsn’t this just for US traffic though? You can place gambling ads in UK. I was looking into this, but you have to pay like $6,000 to the gamblers commission to do so. F that! You can do PPC in Europe though I am pretty sure. I know this because I looked into Google Adwords. Not sure about Adsense. Damn I was just at Adtech in NYC and saw their booth and didn’t go up to it. Next time I will ask if I remember. Cheers!

InactiveAd words is definitely fine for UK, Ireland, and Austria and you don’t need to pay 6k you just need to apply and get your site approved – Before it was just operators now its affiliates as well.
Ad Sense is different I think

xentechMemberYeah you are right…I just went back and was reading through the gamblers commission page. I have a poker software program, but I don’t deal with any gambling transactions. Not sure how I am going to get registered. I am going to contact them and see. Thanks!

sudarmaMemberOk, I have made further investigation…..
You can have adwords to promote your gambling site however Google state that No Gambling Related Site UK, USA or Other is allowed to put AdSense upon their pages!!!
Even if your site is Linked to other gambling sites & Google Catch you they will suspend futher AdSense on any sites in your name…..

Inactivethanks for the heads up. I always wonder if their policys need to be followed on the hole site? I.e. if you have a gambling section and don’t show adsense in that section can you still put it in other non gambling related areas of your site? G isn’t very clear about that from what I can read in their TOS…
@ Alex
not sure about the ranking boost but I do know for sure that it helps with indexing A LOT if you have adsense on there!

arturs.vitolsMemberGoldfinger, I am under the impression that the count your entire domain. IE, even if you have a gambling mini-site you will be counted as a gambling site. I believe I read something that said for US affiliates, they could not use adwords to get traffic to a site that pointed any links outward to a place where a bet could be made. I would think they used the same site wide philosophy for adsense as well.
As for ranking and indexing. I have heard both. I did however have an SEO once remind me that Google must fall under the regulations of the FTC and so they must separate their ad revenue from business operations. There are multiple Google spiders, so the one that crawls your site to determine what ads to put on is not the same one that will index you. Do they talk? Who knows.
I guess if you think its working and it doesn’t kill your usability, there is no harm. Personally though, I think adsense looks like crap and pays about the same so I don’t use it anywhere.

sudarmaMemberWhen I talked to Google on the phone they made it clear that AdSense was not allowed on any gambling related sites whatsoever……
They also highlighted that that if your site is linked (non-gambling related) to gambling related sites this would also cause a suspension of further AdSense!
I find it amusing really as you can advertise through AdWords if you have a gambling site and yet you cannot display AdSense (which follows page contents to determine what is shown) on a gambling related / linked site!!!
It seems that it you use google AdWords you will be on a lose or possibly have no effect to sales on your website (from AdWords) as the gambling ads will only appear on gambling related / focused and not on regular sites (non gambling – due to the content relevance)……
I think I will start a main thread in relation to our posts about this!
