voodoomanMemberI can understand social media working for a poker oriented site, but does it really work for casino marketing sites?

paulosMemberwell done etc, but traffic is irrelevant unless it’s targeted.
I’m willing to bet that conversions didn’t double.

Totally agree, targeted traffic is key. However, if you get a ton of eyeballs to your site targeted or not, then surely you’ll have a greater opportunity to convert that traffic.
Example: 5% conversion of 100 targeted visitors is 5. If you’re getting non-targeted traffic and your conversion rate drops to 2% but your traffic increases 5x, 2% of 500 is 10, so you still have an opportunity for an increase in conversion. Just an example, but targeted or not, traffic and refined conversion funnels are key in my opinion.

I’ll take that as a “no” then. Maybe you would like to post some conv data? it seems like this is a brag thread full of contradictions, that went horribly wrong..

No no, not bragging at all. Didn’t mean it to sound that way.
Just thought I’d share a positive experience that I had with social media by leveraging one of facebook’s features. I can’t speak specifically for conversions because this test was on a small non-gambling site of mine that is literally my “test bed”, and I wasn’t tracking conversions, so I don’t know. I was basically just fooling around with some ideas, and noticed one skyrocketed unexpectedly.
Who knows if it will work for others, or across all niches, but knowledge is power so figured I’d share a traffic booster that worked for me to maybe fuel some thought by others.
Anyway, I’ll write up a post on it soon with more info, screenshots, etc. It’s pretty basic stuff around using facebook’s share functionality to build virality, but I’ll share exactly what I did along with the data that I captured to go along with it.

InactiveI’ll take anyone’s success story.
A good believable source with no product sales pitch is well, ‘priceless’
