InactiveBad move, not now. You may ultimately have a bad backlash from the US Public.

fintanMemberIt’s an exciting thought, and it would make a nice fit with the bail-out bill, but I don’t think Frank would even attempt it. Too many legislators are still rabidly pro-UIGEA (thinking that the voters prefer them to legislate morality), and Frank would get a lot of flack if he tried to tie them together. And the blowback would hurt his chances of overturning UIGEA in the long run, and I think he probably knows that.

InactiveBut with the US broke and getting worse this might be the time for him to remind the other reps that this is free money being left on the table.

InactiveWell we know things will be added on to this, theres no way the Dems will let 700 Billion by without somthing of great intrest added. I really dont think the people will mind much of averting a WTO sanction and cost while possiblt gaining income from regulation. Oh yeah and that funny stuff called freedom to make your own decision.

LassoMemberThe banks do not want to enforce UIGEA so we have a chance in that regard.

InactiveIMO if there was ever a time to fight for the revenue that comes from online gambling then NOW is the time. I don’t think he will have to do a Bush and ‘sneak’ anything in, but i’m confident that Frank will do his best to get them to see the ‘advantages’ of following other countries and regulating it asap.
It’s wishful thinking I know, but we can always hope or keep HOPE alive.
