InactiveIf the United States legalizes online gambling, I would guess that at least 90%of the offshore companies would go out of business. The United States would only award certifications to companies of their choosing. Obviously, those will be American companies and maybe a few foreign ones so they don’t get any more hassle from the WTO. That leaves everyone else in the dumps.

InactiveI am an American online casino affiliate and I shall be heard! Ok. Let’s just say that I take out a couple of hours of my time and compose a good letter for my congressman on the subject of “Cowards Who Fear Online Casinos.” I say things like, I know he is a courageous man and I believe the gamer is strong enough to choose to bet within his own budget, and things like a million plus tax dollars for California’s economy could be used in the missionary work of making Californian citizens strong and wise with their money.
Now What?
What are the odds that my local congressman will read my letter? Let’s say for the sake of the word is God and words are influential that the odds are 100%. Now let’s say for the same sake that he is looking to be swayed to either be for or against online gaming. He reads my letter and is convinced that online casinos are a good test of our strength and a good source of tax revenue. He sends me a Thank You letter.
Now What?
He proposes to the State of California a Bill to legalize and tax online gaming. The Bill takes about a year to pass legislation and California rolls out their regulation on online gaming.
Now What?
I sit at my desk and realize that I helped to legalize and tax online gaming in my state. I get asked to make appearance on local television shows and online gaming seminars. All with a simple well thought out letter. I begin to hold my own seminars helping others pass legislation to make new state laws. I become a very successful speaker and lobbyist. I make more and more money with seminars and online gaming commissions.
Now What?
So what. I am already a successful businessman, with my webmaster skills. If online casinos are wiped out I can jump into another field and make just as much money without all the political mayhem.
:dajudge: The people who run the USA and California are already doing a great job. I will just ride this new online gaming law out and see what happens 2 to 3 years from now. If online gaming promotion ever becomes illegal, I will bow out and take my winnings. Strength to all government officials – they won’t have to read any of my influential letters.

InactiveThe new law did legalize online gambling in the US, it gives the states the authority to license and regulate gambling, whether online or offline, within their own borders.
Look for Nevada to go online soon, most likely followed by state lotteries throughout the US>
