InactiveYou can post there and have a link to your website, or just the story you submitted itself?

InactiveYou submit stories at slashdot – but it is VERY tough to ever have a story accepted (I know people who have tried dozens of times and never had one accepted). I submited a news story about the anti-Internet gambling bill to try and raise awareness and it was posted. Along with any news story you can choose to include a website or email address where you can be contacted. I put down linuxpoker.net since that site is the most applicable to the slashdot crowd hehe. The link does not have good anchor text (the anchor text is my username matr0x_x) but its still a very valuable back link and has brought in 6 RMP in ~5 hours.

InactiveI think (and i could be wrong) that Slashdot PR9 is for the front page which only shows yesterdays/todays news. After this, the items become archived and pulled out using a Perl script. For a couple of days that gets you PR5 then PR3 etc etc as it moves down the list.

Congrats! You will get a hell of a lot of traffic if you are on the front page of slashdot, even though it may only be a day or two.

Just realized they have a put a link condom on all the links though, so it’s really only good for the traffic I got and nothing else sneaky2.gi

InactiveJust submitted an aticle on Linux gaps. Its’ rather old, something I had in my journal from 1991, but still relevant today. I often submitt these sorts of articles, some make it some don’t. greek39
