Inactive“What happened a couple of months ago Microsoft finally found a hole in their firewall”
A couple months ago? So then why did you copy and paste (word for word) your description of the vunerability this newly found hole created from various winter 2005 virus alerts, such as this February 17th 2005 virus alert (last paragraph): http://extra.fortifysoftware.com/archives/2005/05/microsoft_inter_1.html :hmmm:
I could go on, but frankly I’ve got work to do and my only goal here was to inform CAP members that you were over-hyping the seriousness of bb1’s post which was unwarranted in my opinion. I’ve said why my part, you’ve said yours (including multiple threatening PMs, but we won’t go there…) so I’d say we stop bickering in this thread and let some other members share their thoughts on the subject. :satisfied
I also do not appreciate being called scum or a blackhat, the CAP members who know me and have worked with me in the past know this is most certainly not true.
As for the owner of the site – he is making money hand over fist with his “tricks”. Go to google and type in anything poker related, you’ll find this exact website listed under one of its many URLs, Poker-Vision.net, Poker-Lessons.info, etc. Magic – he has been listed on adwords for the every one of the largest poker keywords for the past 8 weeks yet Google has never taken him down for gambling content. The only thing black hat about him is he’s figured out how to get around all PPC monitoring and 99.9% of affiliates haven’t! The script he runs is not malicious and is no more of an intrusion to the end user then a website that customizes itself based on how you go to the site and what operating system & internet browser your running.

InactiveI, too, think there has been too much and unnecessary hostility here, we don’t act like that here, it’s a professional forum.
I am however very interested in the thread and do want to thank the posters for clarifying some things.
We are all here to learn things, I did from this thread.

InactiveI do not post my private resources, I will post public ones. Also I hate talking computer jargon it boring and some members may not understand. I like constructive conversation not ones that lead nowhere.
Clearly the site spawned a virus Exploit-IEPageSpoof trojan from the site in question. To be honest is it malicious I have no idea too busy looking into other things.
I agree to stop the bickering but stand behind my findings. I will move forward, and start doing something else.greek39

GuestThis is a terrible thing that is happening. I just got a new computer instead of risking that an exploit was put on my old one. Please see this thread for info about that problem: http://www.casinoaffiliateprograms.com/bb/serious-f-cking-a-hole.9286.html?

InactiveI got hit by a new trojan last week. I stupidly in a moment of madness clicked on a link in an email I got. Well I thought I had resolved the problem. Until this morning that is. My Neteller account was locked down as was my girlfriend’s internet banking account. It transpired someone last night tried to gain access to both.
Luckily they failed and after the designated number of attempts allowed to login were used up both accounts were locked down.
This has not made my day at all. I have had to buy a new external usb harddrive to back up and salvage valuable files on the affected PC. Which is currently being formatted and rebuilt. My own fault really, my laptop is firewalled to the hilt and I don’t normally if at all click on links on emails from people I don’t know. My Desktop will also now be locked down once I get it back up and running.
Luckily whilst a costly experience in time, no damage was done other than a lot of inconvenience on my part. Just changing all my passwords alone took over half an hour.

InactiveHey Webzcas do you still have the link that was emailed to you. I would love too have it. Pm me if you do I will give instructions where to send it. I find it strange alot of CAP members have been directly emailed this link. greek39

InactiveExploit-IEPageSpoof is *not* a worm, it is a trojan.
A worm will spread its payload to other users, such as by using your Outlook address book to mail itself to your contacts.
A trojan is a hole through which another computer may gain some control over your computer.
A trojan *could* spawn a worm, but it is not in itself a worm.
So – if you don’t visit the site, you don’t become susceptible to the trojan.
Now – regarding the exploit that ClarkePromotion suggested – it may very well be exactly what he is talking about, or it could also be another entirely different exploit of the vulnerability. Without visiting the page in question, I cannot tell one way or the other – but then again, I have no reason to visit the page.

I agree the trojan can spawn a worm.
