Inactiveas strange as it sounds, i’ve noticed that if a site looks professional and has limited content then bounce rates are high. for professional sites there must be a lot of “trust worthiness” for it to convert well. on the other hand, crappy looking sites seem to convert much better with limited content. i guess its because crappy looking sites have a more personal feel and visitors seem to accept its judgment….
did i just go off topic? hmm :rasta:

InactiveNot sure if I agree with the crappy aspect, but personality helps… Not sure what you consider a high rate of hits that don’t stay… Haven’t seen the site so there is nothing to analyze… Maybe if you told us the URL?

InactiveThe site loads not very slow for my connection, and almost all players have fast connection. But you may try to optimize your html code, what I’m doing now with my site. And your site looks very good!

supervinceMemberMaybe your visitors arent targeted enough. Are you getting your traffic from organic listings or ppc? Usually when a visitor comes to a website then leaves its because they didnt find what they were looking for.
If your using ppc then check the keywords your bidding on. Make sure they are highly targeted and add negative keywords to your campaign to weed out unwanted clicks.
If your traffic is coming from organic listings then you might want to consider optimizing for different keywords.
You should also check your competition. See who’s ads are running next to yours and see what they are doing.

GuestHi,
by “bounce time” do you mean people that come and then leave without clicking on a link?
if you’re targeting keywords like online casinos … provide links to online casinos.
if you’re targeting online slots tips …. provide tips and expect a lesser amount of interest of people clicking ads.
its all about getting what you want. if you visit a site to buy red wagons … you want a list of red wagons to choose from.
if you want information on how red wagons work … provide that info and expect to get less interest in the ads you run selling red wagons.
my 2 cents.

Inactivejapp, thats what i meant.
Makes sense, i just figured if they are looking for say vegas style casino games then clicking further is what they should do, some do some take offIll look it over once i get some time

GuestHi again,
though its likely I’m not the prettiest sites in town ……. probably the ugliest. I still believe even the best place (depending on what you target of course) …… is going to get stop-bys and fast leaves.
think about it. how often when searching for something on the net do you stay at a site and really look it over? personally if I don’t find what I want right then … and no easy link to such info ….. i go on. i don’t bother looking all over the site for the info when I can easily return to the SE and try another site.
my 2 cents.
