vladcizsolMemberWhats your average time per visit Rex? Is that a single visitor/IP address hitting the same page 62 times?
It sounds like an automated script from what you’ve described, can you provide more details?

InactiveHi Professor,
Average time spent on the paticular page I had directed the service to show : 36 seconds
The stats show only 1 unique visitor for that page…but 62 page hits.
I should note that this is a pop under campaign.

InactiveOne more thing….
I checked the paths through the site…specifically for the page in question.
That one unique visitor visited the page I had directed the traffic to…then went to the same page…and on and on and on. It’s like someone was hitting the refresh button over and over again.

vladcizsolMemberRex that is typical of cheap traffic campaigns widely sold to unsuspecting webmasters. The “visits” are CGI generated and not real viewers. I usually go on the war path when discussing these scams, so rather then get all worked up I will refer you to a previous post I did on this subject.

This happens OVER and OVER and its a damn shame
What kills me is the sellers are usually fellow webmasters and KNOW the traffic isn’t legit. You want to know how to prove this to yourself? Ask the person you bought this campaign from to supply a few URLs to where these supposed pop unders are running. Guess what they cant/wont give you any addresses and will return with the same bullshit story
“Gee in order to protect the privacy of our advertisers we dont release that info” or the equally famous story “Gee, I am actually just a reseller, I dont know where the pop ups are running or I would tell you”Rex I am sorry this happened to you, hopefully you didnt make too big a buy…

InactiveWell if it is indeed a scam..then I have a serious bone to pick with a senior member of this forum. They posted the link to the service (perfecttraffic.com) on these boards. Looked to be legit since most of the advice here seems to be on the up and up.
But now that I went back and checked the link…it looks as if there is an affiliate id in there. That should have sent warning bells off.
So..again if this is a scam (the verdict isn’t final yet mind you) then not only did this person post a crappy service that may or may not be scam…they made money doing it.
I know..I know… You all have warned us newbies not to trust these traffic services. When it’s all said and done…this was really my fault. I guess I just wanted to test the waters so to speak.
If it does pan out to be a scam…with no real unique ips looking at my site…which is what they advertised…can I do anything about it?
On a side note…I got my site to a PR4 today. Yipeee! I love small victories. Now to get a real live purchasing player……where are you dammit!

InactiveHey Rex
So how has the campaign been going for you? I have had perfect traffic recommended to me by two people now but I’d like to hear your views so far.
Regards
Red

InactiveProfessor has said it before, but it bears repeating:
Real traffic costs real money.
If you keep that in mind when buying traffic you’ll do fine.

InactiveHi Justred,
Well, around 5000 hits so far…not one sign up or download. I should point out that my logs are showing some fishy stats as well. Perfect Traffic may or may not be a scam…but I would avoid them.
In my humble opinion… follow the advice of the more experienced webmasters here…If is sounds to good to be true..it is.
My money would have been better spent bidding on some keywords over at Oveture or Google.
